I haven't seen any fanboyism in this thread.
For the sake of not starting a flame war I won't point out any examples, but lets just say that most of the comments here are extremely thinly veiled fanboyisms.

But seriously, it has nothing to do with personal playing style... It has to do with buying a system, adapting to a specific controller, and defending that controller as if could actually be "better". The only people who should be voting are those with both systems who also play each one often, and tbh I'm sure that most people here with "both systems" are lying.

I mean, any 360 vs PS3 thread on the Escapist is going to have a shit ton of fanboys.

Thats it but I used the one in the picture I posted :p. Just cause everyone else is complaining doesn't make my opinion wrong. The PS3 triggers are far better than the PS2 triggers and the 360s but I'm not a microsoft person I dont really like Xbox in general even though their company games are decent. I prefer Sony.

EDIT: I'm not saying you're wrong either. This is why I like this forum site, people can have a calm discussion about things, erm most the time.
I wasn't saying you were wrong either about what you liked. I was just pointing out the strangeness of showing a non-Sony controller to represent the PS2 controller, since it is constructed totally different. Cause, I think a majority of people would have had the Sony brand PS2 controller.

My reasoning behind my love of the 360 triggers, is that they are shaped similar and react like a gun trigger. Looking at the PS3 triggers, I can understand the people here that are saying that the 360 controls are good for shooters, because of the triggers, and that the PS3 controllers are good for other games. From what I see, the PS3 triggers look similar in shape to the PS2 ones, but from what I have heard on here the triggers on the PS3 are marshmallow-y. What does that mean? Are the triggers not made of hard plastic, instead they are soft cushy plastic?

For me if I were to use a PS3 controller, I think I would say the same like other people, my fingers would slip off the triggers because they are curved outward, they don't hold the fingers there. 360 curves inward and holds the fingers; same goes for the analogs which have curved indentations that keep the thumbs from slipping off them. When I did have a PS2, I found that a problem with the analog, because they were curved outward, and the same looks to be the same with the PS3 analogs.

All that you have described about the PS3 controller is true. It is also the reson I love the controller, I prefer to have the outward shape analogues and the triggers like they are, I have never had my fingers slip from the triggers but it is possible.

I like the triggers because they feel easier and quicker for me to push personally, and when playing fast, upbeat games that require a solid reaction time, I prefer that controller.

I have played games on Xbox and I do like the controller, however, I prefer to have the PS3 because of those features.

The Xbox controller has a more solid trigger that feels alien to me, as well as curved in analogue sticks.

But I learned and have played more with controllers like that of gamecube and playstation.

I have played on both systems extensively. I have a PS2 and 360, and regularly go to my neighbors house to play on his PS3.

...but I am a PS3 fanboy.
