For the longest time I have been a "WiiC gamer" (Playing both Wii and PC) As almost every worthwhile game that is available on PS3 or 360 is also available on PC.

I recently learned that Brutal Legend will not have a PC release. This accompanied by the fact that almost every store refuses to stock PC games that are 6 months old or older (Should it really be so hard to give them money?) and the fact that my gaming PC has stopped working again has made me consider buying a 360. Should I?

I'd say if you're a big PC gamer as you're implying, go for the PS3. Mainly because most games on 360 can be found on PC as well like Mass Effect or Dragon Age: Origins (I have no idea what's going on with PC releases, don't kill me!) cheaper and better. With the Ps3 you get a bit more exclusives on that platform that usually keep on the platform that you can't find on PC (MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, InFamous, ect...), of course that depends on if you're interested in those exclusives in the first place.

Just my opinion, don't shank me or anything people.

Hold onto your money and update your rig when the next batch of emulators come along.

Just out of curiosity, why isn't fixing your PC an option? It could be something simple, like a burnt power supply that would cost you $70 to fix rather than buying a new console and game library.

Yeah. There's a bunch of console-exclusive games that are awesome.

Also, If you want older PC games, why not check out Internet Stores?

Because I hate shopping online.

If you can afford a ps3 you can probably afford to fix up your computer a bit. Otherwise, I'd say... ps3. Mainly because the games on the 360 that aren't on the ps3 are on the pc anyway.

Buy a PS3 for the non-PC games. Most if not all good 360 games not on the PC are also on the PS3. The PC dominates the FPS category, and having a console is a good way to get a little of everything. I'd use the PC for FPS's and the console for everything esle, because it doesn't need hardware upgrades and it has a controller built for other games. However, if you are looking for an online community, go with the 360. Sacrificing a little processing power and a few good (phenomenal) games for a large service seems like a pertty good trade off to me.

Also, are you planning on upgrading your PC in a while? I enjoy having a PC and a console just for versatility.

The point is I can only afford to do one of the options, so the Xbox games being available for PC is just as much an argument for the PC as it is for the Xbox. I also don't like most of the PS3 exclusives. (PS3 exclusives I like: LBP, InFamous, Whatever Ratchet and Clank games are floating around and Valkyria chronicles.)

Ha ha. Foiled again. But I agree with him. Most of the 360's lineup is available on the PC. Never thought I'd say this but get the PS3. The 360 won't be worth it.
(I barely use mine anyway. The Wii takes over)

As much as i'd love to recommend the 360 to another person, if you already play on a PC you should just fix your PC instead of buying a new console because, as Jumplion mentioned before, most of the big 360 titles end up on PC at some point and time. For that reason, if you're insistent on buying a console, go for the PS3.

This PC has died several times, it was top of the line in 04'. Fixing and upgrading it becomes a less valid prospect with each passing second.

For those who argue the supposed superiority of mouse control as a selling point know that I prefer the comfort and precision of dual analogs over the jerkyness of a mouse. I also find the 360 controller more comfy than the PS3 controller.

I don't have a PS3, but you should get it since they last longer than the 360. My 360 only lasted a year, wheras my god damn 6 year old PS2 is still running like it was new. -_-"

Need some more info. What type of game are you? A shooter fan, online player or what?
I use my 360 a lot but you might not depending on what you enjoy.

I like almost everything but horror, sports and rail shooters. I also don't like realistic racing games, but silly ridiculous ones are fine.

Right, then a 360 is a good buy for the shooters and sandboxes, far more of them than the ps3. If you like online play then definitely 360. However I'd say the ps3 has a bit more variety, not so many shooters but wider appeal (R&C, Little Bigplanet).

Downloadable games are also a factor, if anyone has any good recommendations.
Downloadable games I currently want for 360: Splosion' man, Braid. For PS3: Shadow complex, Trine.
