I've been playing a game for a while, The Darkness II. It's a great FPS that's actually worth playing. It has some flaws, the light and dark system can be annoying at times, and the story is somewhat short. Does that make The Darkness II a bad game because it's campaign is only 6 hours short? No. No it does not. I understand we are living in a rough economy, I know most people can't buy a game unless it has 20+ hours into it, and I know that many people don't even get too have more then 5 games a year. Does that still make The Darkness II a bad game solely on the fact that's somewhat short? NO. What some people need to understand is that not just because a game is long means it's good. Is Final Fantasy 13-2 good because it's long? No, because the story and gameplay fail on ridiculous levels. While that's still my opinion, I feel The Darkness II is excellent in both gameplay, story, characters, graphics, etc. Also, since this game is about 6 hours short, does that make Portal 1 and 2,Uncharted 2 and 3, and Sly Cooper bad? No, because they do well in both story and gameplay, and that too me fixes their faults with their lengths. Please put your response to the issue in the comment section.

Do they charge full retail price ($60 or more) for this short game?

If so, then yeah. It might not be a bad game, but it's a bad purchasing decision. Buying a five-pound bag of yummy, healthy fruit isn't bad. Buying it for $500, however, is.

So no. More content doesn't make the game good, but not having enough content to warrant a very high price IS enough to justify buying it a "bad idea."

If the game isn't good in the quality department... why would I keep playing it in the first place? So if a game is bad and long.... that's just more suffering!

Quality. A great, short game, like say portal, is worth more to me than 40 hours of playing a game that does nothing different or innovative.

I think the problem is less that this game had a short story and more that it had a short story in comparison to other games which offer longer stories that are also good. 'good' and 'bad' all all about comparison and if gamers see a game with a 20+ hour story that is good then if the game is short, even if it has a good story, it still is shorter then this other 'good' game and thus is less good.
