Well, I've had my eye on these for a while now.

The question is, does anyone know if Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket earbuds are worth $60?

"LOL" at the person who gave it 1 star for a scratch. Granted the right earbud didn't work, but I digress. Ehem, anyway, back on topic.
I'd say yes, but shop around. I got mine for around $30, so bargain shopping is definitely good for this situation.
For $60? I'd look a bit lower. Check around at your local RadioShack or Electronics store.

Short answer: Christ no.
Long answer: Any and all Skullcandy headphones/earbuds are crap. If you're willing to spend $60 on headphones in the first place, might as well chip in a bit more for something worth half a damn. Look into buying some entry level Sennheisers, AKG K24P's, or the Grado SR60.

This site [http://www.headphone.com/] is a good resource for headphones. My main advice is this: Don't settle for less.

Did you get them new?

I'm a bit anal about buying used things.

I'd look into those, but so far, Skullcandys have never let me down.

I'm in agreement with Maet. You really don't want to go with Skullcandy. Not only are they not worth the money but 99% of the time you look like an idiot with them on (they are really tacky).

ouch...are they gold plated or something?

Headphones like that are liable to break after about 3 months or so.

I`d rather by a decent set of super retro headphones if I had the money (looks in wallet and cries).

My skullcandy's are starting to wear down, probably because my family drops them on the floor about a million times whilst on the computer.

I saw those same ones at the Skull Candy booth at my mall for around $30. They are decent headphones (not entirely sound canceling though), and you might as well get their cheaper $12 ones since there is no difference between these and those.

No, you should never pay that much money for earbuds.
I bought some for 50? and guess what: The cable broke just as easily as the 2? ones I find at the local discounter.
