Poll: Quick question on the new Borderlands 2 trailer

Hey guys, just watched the new Borderlands 2 trailer, it is awesome. Lotta WUB WUB going on in it, a little too much some would say... Anyways I have a question about the character cast namely one of the guys that isn't Salvador(Salvador is already my favorite, I don't care who you are but you never mess with the big Latino dude). His name is Zero, if you don't have the patience for the reveal or some serious WUB WUB (or a pop-lockin' Claptrap at 2:24) skip ahead to about 0:48 and look at this cyber ninja guy. Apparently the guys name is Zero and he's what I'm guessing to be the fill-in for Mordecai this time but instead of an eagle sniper man they went with Snake-eye's descendant in the far-off future(I guess badassness is hereditary). Now I'm not trying to be that guy saying,"LOL WU7!? GAYB0X, CYBER NINJAZERO=MEGAMAN ZERO XDDDDDD,", no,I'm not that guy(thank you Big Man). Point is do you think that naming this guy was sort of a coincidence or was it a shout it to Capcom? What do you guys think?



(Unrelated note: Salvador is immediately the coolest, going in with nothin' but two t-shirts, blue jeans, and cowboy boots)

Similar in what way? Like they're usually an assassin or they're ninjas or cyber ninjas.

Christ that sound is irritating, the one thing that stood out in Borderlands was the soundtrack now they went straight with soulless marketing 101, great to see they get the accountants in on the production...

They're probably just hopping on the dubstep bandwagon for this one trailer and give you the good stiff in game relax

OT: That's just it, I don't know any other game character named zero.

I actually think the dubstep was used well. A cheesy game like Borderlands needs a cheesy soundtrack.

Does he look anything like Zero from Megaman? Having the same name and a fairly vague/generic connection via "profession" does not mean anything. It's possible, sure, but that's a pretty large leap in logic.

I mean, Sub-Zero is a ninja whose fellow ninja buddy was turned into a robot. (I think there may have been some story-arc thing where SZ was as well)
Metal Gear Solid has Cyborg Ninja / Gray Fox who looks a lot more like this Zero and there is a character in the series named Zero.
Hell, you could probably make an argument the name is inspired by Zero-suit Samus that makes enough sense.
