Do you play with one character religiously, until you can rattle of 10 hit combos with ease, or do you vary?

I was sticking to hwoarang.. then feng came along.. i was gonna stick with him, but ninas bound combos are so awesome.... she would take a lot of practice though, but if i stuck to her i feel i would be nearly unbeatable :p

My favourite is Jack-6, but I like to play others to at least mix it up. I'm adept with Alisa, Lars and Steve as well.

To be good at Tekken you simply need to place your hand over the face buttons on the controller and wiggle it around. Make sure you hit as many as possible. Victory in Tekken goes to whoever attacks the most.

it annoys me when people say tekken6 is a button masher.. if it is then so is SF4, and no one seems to complain about that..

the thing about tekken is that newbies can pick up, and be half competent (yes by mashing buttons, but people camp in FPS' and you dont blame the game for that). a proper tekken master will still floor them, but if they are lucky they could put up a decent enough fight.. which makes for FUN battles.. not stale completely one sided brawls like in VF

Im sorry but literally not being able to get a single hit in on a VF master just isnt fun.. it may be slightly gratifying to the masters but for 90% of gamers it isnt. Suggest a game of VF to your mates on a friday night and they will turn it off after 3 rounds, tekken marathons can last all night :)

I completley agree with spikey. Also if you wanna play the button mashing card. so are most action games. Tell me with any melee attack in any game that you only push "x" button the exact amount of times that your character on screen actually throws a punch or swings a sword. I highly doubt it. SOme of the characters in tekken 6 have over 100 moves. yea sure alot of them are pretty basic and can be stumbled on just by pushing whatever. But combos and more complex attacks take timing, percision and guess what...will not work if you buttonmash. SO yea. respect to my fellow tekken players.

If anything the flaw in the tekken combat system is it's juggling. (giant dragon and devil wings aside) it doesn't fit the "realistic" feel of the game. Also adds fuel to the cheap ass bastards that playonline. you know the one that run, juggle, hit u when your down, and go for throws 90% of the time.

Ever since I put 17,000+ versus matches into Tekken 3, I've chosen random character's for versus battles. I'm still learning all there is to know about Tekken 6, but I could do all of King's chain grabs, all 10-hits, knew the distances each fighter had, for each move they had. Where to be when they threw, where to not be etc... Yeah, I sold my soul for Tekken mastery.
I envy you sir..
