Do you guys ever carry two sets of clothes in a game? I guess the best example would he in games like The Elder Scrolls series and Fallout, both Bethesda game. By two sets of clothes I mean that as in do you have one pair for adventures and another pair for when your in the city? Like when I play Fallout: New Vegas (they've got to make one Fallout game in Texas, this place is perfect for Fallout. They can reestablish the Repbulic of Texas(Texas was it's own country for awhile for those who don't know Rexas or US history)). Anyway, when I play New Vegas (picked it up like 3 or 7 days ago) I wear metal armor and a metal helmet while I'm out in the wastes, formal wear in the casino, and a King's outfit everywhere else. I do the same thing in Oblivion, I wear a dark brown shirt and black pants in town and a leather geddup out in the world where I can get hurt. I mean if it's a role playing game why not freaking role play, right? A warrior is not gonna wear his armor everywhere, right? That'd be annoying and heavy, and painful as well. Especially in the morning(if you guys catch my drift). So am I the only one that does this or are ther others beside mine self? Post your attitude, your clothes and your game.

I don't do that, but I would if it wasn't so much hassle in most games. It's a shame but there's a certain suspension of disbelief necessary for games; obviously my guy wouldn't walk around in a suit of armour when he's going shopping, but I just can't be bothered to switch outfits when it's only me who would appreciate it.

NO. I wear like casting gear, and battle gear, and stealth gear, but I don't just have a set of clothes to look nice.

Nope. Bloodstained, dusty and weary after weeks out in the wild, I strut right into town, sell the useless loot, buy new stuff, hand in some quests, get a couple of new ones and then I march right out again.

All while clad in my armor of the moment (which buy now ought to be taken to the cleaners). And a sword.

I like playing dress-up in RPGs, especially MMOs. If an MMO gives me a social clothing/appearance slot thing, then I'm just damn screwed, since I'll end up spending a majority of my time collecting weapons and armor for appearance only. In EQ2, my main had 6 44-slot bags in her bank of NOTHING but weapons and sets of armor to play dress-up. My other characters had tons of armor sets and weapons as well, but nothing quite matched the collection I had on my main. Hell, even in Vanilla WoW I still had fun dressing up my rogue.

In single player RPGs, I don't really do it for a roleplaying purpose like you, but just because I like dressing up my character.

Two sets of clothes? How pedestrian. I'll have you know that I carry a grand total of five hundred and forty-seven outfits in my current game of Oblivion, for every occasion from eating at a tavern to eating at a different tavern to eating at the first tavern a second time. My character is currently unable to move due to the weight of the outfits, but you don't need to move to wear clothes and eat.

Yes, but generally only in MMOs. In Fallout 3 and New Vegas I simply eschew armor altogether with most characters... but (for example) one of my new trial account WoW characters always carries a dress, sandals and a bouquet of flowers to wear when entering a major city... she's a warrior, so that's in place of full mail armor, axe and shield.

No I don't endeavour to roleplay in that manner. It's rather funny in Dragon Age wondering around towns having casual conversations with the towns folk whilst your character is utterly covered in blood.

No, not two, I'll lug around one set of clothes and another of armour (depending on game), while I'll change the avatar's clothes from a massive selection of different styles whenever I feel like it. Sure it takes forever to collect it all, but a lady's gotta look good when kicking arse, doesn't she?

Nah, I sell stuff whenever I find something more useful. Otherwise I'll run out of inventory capacity.

-UNLESS-

We're talking about a game where elemental resistance features heavily. I'll always bring in fire resist gear to fight dragons in games, for instance.

In TES games, no. In fallout 3, I have powerarmor, chinese stealth suit, and that rad suit from Moria, and I dont even think I need it with the power armor.

No, I have my character progress through the game, and as he progresses his outfit changes.

Example Fallout 3:

Beginning: Armored Vault 101 Suit
Beg-Mid: Leather Armor
Mid: Duster
End: BoS Power Armor

Pretty much this...I would like to do that, but it's often such a pain in the backside to fiddle with the inventory and flip through all your stuff just for the sake of doing it, since...especially in the games the OP mentioned...what you're wearing almost never has any effect on how people react to you. That's why I loved that "Bloody Mess" mod for Oblivion. The more bloodstained and gore spattered you got the more your personality score took a hit, to the point of being zero. People hated you, for good reason: you were covered head to toe in fresh blood.
It wasn't really much, but it did make you tend to seek out a pond to wash off in before you wandered into town and started getting sucker punched by the guards.

They mention in Morrowind that NPCs are afraid of you when your in full armor and/or have your weapon out.

I never actually noticed anything in the game play thou, other than prices shifting by a couple gold. I'd like to see it implemented more. Like maybe have hot-keyed equipment load-outs, just a thought.

Hah, you haven't yet discovered (Oblivion spoiler)
the trick of enchanting city clothes in Oblivion yet. Armor and armor skills become completely irrelevant. I think my top AC was 94? whatever the highest possible level is.
