I chose "BURN IN HELL" because the option presented itself, I perfere the middle ground of Assault rifle.
I would rather people camp and snipe then run up to me and as I litter their body with bullets from my guns, they get one shot off and I die. I would rather have them in an advantagous point on the map that allows them to only see a tactical POV that can be overpassed by an aware player.Tankichi said:So you'd rather they just camp instead of quick scope? Cause that's whats going to happen. then people will get pissed at camping snipers.
No it's not. Sniper rifles are solely ranged guns. You try and use them to run and gun and not only will your aim be rubbish, but with the bigger calibres like the Barrett 50 cal you might break your arm.dfcrackhead said:So you want a sniper rifle to stop working at close range? thats kinda dumb, it's how the gun and class works.
The problem with relying on the secondary weapon is they have very little ammo, and you're pretty much forced back to the sniper rifle when the ammo runs out. I think if you choose the sniper rifle you should be given extra secondary ammo because you'll be relying on it more than someone who uses an assault rifle or shotgun. The Heik said:No it's not. Anyways, it's not like you don't have a back-up weapon slot for when things get dicey. Eliminating the quick-scope finally sets the sniper back to long-range combat.
Now if we could only do something to get rid of the noobtubes.....
That's why they have Scavenger. You need extra ammo, you start off with extra clips and can scavenge off other people's corpses. Add the Scout perk that allows you to switch weapons faster, and you're good to go.Janus Vesta said:The problem with relying on the secondary weapon is they have very little ammo, and you're pretty much forced back to the sniper rifle when the ammo runs out. And I LOVE running around with a pistol between sniping positions, I feel like a secret agent.
Yeah, but I meant just normally, like when you use a 9mm pistol with a 9mm SMG they share ammo, if you use a sniper rifle you should get an extra pistol (and ONLY pistol) magazine. The other secondaries get/got plenty of ammo (haven't played BO yet). The Heik said:That's why they have Scavenger. The shared ammo isn't necessarily a good thing. It mean that if you run out of ammo for one, then the other one is out too. And it's not like you don't have other options for guns. There are shotguns, MPs and even launchers you can use. And if you're using the pistol enough to empty it completely, then you're doing something wrong as a sniperJanus Vesta said:Yeah, but I meant just normally, like when you use a 9mm pistol with a 9mm SMG they share ammo, if you use a sniper rifle you should get an extra pistol (and ONLY pistol) magazine. I agree with this completely.dfcrackhead said:if you can quickscope efficiently then more power to you, figure out a strategy for beating them
Not really, you only get 24 rounds with your pistol and less than 20 as a sniper. That's less ammo altogether compared to everyone else. LMG users have hundreds of rounds and assault/SMG users have 90+, often when I use my pistol I kill 2 or 3 guys in an encouter, plus I have 1 or 2 encounter when moving between positions, coulped with the fact that I don't die a lot means I run out of ammo pretty quickly. The Heik said:The shared ammo isn't necessarily a good thing. ^^ really, I need this answered, I don't see any reason why a sniper rifle shouldn't be usable in CQ provided you can deal with about 15 degrees of FoV instead of your usual.Baneat said:How is quickscoping a glitch?
I just don't see the glitchy part of it, you line an xhair on someone's head and shoot them. Hacks? (PC player, what is this auto-aim you speak of?)
Well that's because the other classes need more ammo to put down a target. It usually takes a third to half a clip to take someone down with an AR/SMG. That's about 15 kills with the normal ammo amounts, not including any secondary weapons or lucky shots.Janus Vesta said:Not really, you only get 24 rounds with your pistol and less than 20 as a sniper. What are you doing, firing blindly? It takes 3 rounds from an assault rifle and 4 from a SMG to kill in CoD. I easily get 10 kills per mag. LMGs do the same damage as ARs too. It seems a lot of the people who ***** about snipers can't seem to aim.The Heik said:Well that's because the other classes need more ammo to put down a target. Aside from the 24 pistol rounds you have, a sniper rifle has 20 rounds, and considering what a sniper does, that means you should be capable of 20 kills so long as you don't miss or hit the enemy's foot. Add the average or 2 kills you can get per pistol clip, that 25+ kills. Enough to get a nuke if you play it right.
It's not how many rounds you have. It's how you use them.
ARs/SMGs are a lot less accurate that snipers. it may take only 3/4 rounds to kill but usually only half of what you fire at someone usually hits because people move in the game.Janus Vesta said:What are you doing, firing blindly? I'm saying shotguns should not be replaced by sniper rifles as the CQC weapon of choice.Phoenixlight said:What a stupid thing to say, shotguns can't do anything to long range targets.PowCoJG said:Snipers should NOT have the option of being a valid close range weapon EVER. I'm complaining because I run out of ammo a lot and not everyone is as good at aiming as I am. Plus I HEAVILY rely on stealth, not something everyone can do.The Heik said:ARs/SMGs are a lot less accurate that snipers. it may take only 3/4 rounds to kill but usually only half of what you fire at someone usually hits because people move in the game.
But if you're such a good shot, then why are you complaining that you don't have enough rounds? 30 kills should be quite enough for anyone.
But the point still stands. You have a good accuracy with a gun that can get 1 hit kills, meaning that your overall kill count is high, yet you're complaining that you've run out of ammo. That seems just a little silly, since our lack of ammo is a sign that you've done well. All ranged weapons eventually run out of things to shoot with, and having a huge amount of rounds for a class that uses very little not only redundant but unbalanced.Janus Vesta said:I'm complaining because I run out of ammo a lot and not everyone is as good at aiming as I am.
