No, not really. It's a limited arcade driving game with limited lifespan. Nostalgia makes you think it's great.

I love GT4, though I might have to pick up Forza 3 soon, the customisation is great. Your sandbox driving was done perfectly well in Need for Speed: Underground 2.

Nope. Sandbox racing games fail because of requirements of navigating while doing 200 mph. Also, there's a reason they have to pay bus drivers money in real life: it's really not that fun.

I prefer Forza personally. Accurately rendered fast cars on purpose-built tracks. That's a recipe for success. The last cartoonish racing game I enjoyed was Mario Kart.
