As the title says. Do you think this Tom Clancy franchise has any life left in it, or is it beyond help?

Given the Vegas series, I'd say they're running low on ideas, and are making up for shorter stories with multiple-respawn-requiring battles, which is totally unfair.

I believe that the series is on thin ice, and that Ubi needs to either end the franchise right now, or else actually put some goddamn effort into the next installment.

Your opinions?

I really thought Vegas 1 was the option to breathe life back to R6, but the sequel left me pretty disappointed, keeping in mind that I couldn't stand the story for either for any more than 30 minutes before going to the very nicely done multiplayer.

It has a possible future, but they will have to put serious effort into the game, not just story wise. The last was enjoyable but improvements could be made. Same with most games actually, so we'll probably see another.

What do most developers do when they find a successful franchise? Milk it dry until they day when it comes to retiring it or relaunching it with some change to gameplay. Cynical pants are on today.

R6 has always been about the multiplayer for me.
never play solo so a new game with new locals would be nice.

Would like Ghost Recon go back to present day without the futuristic guns and HUDS etc.

For me R6 died after Raven Shield because all of a sudden you couldn't plan anything, select your team, Kit yourself out correctly and you could survive getting shot 15 times. Before that it was all about the plan and how you executed it now it's about psychotic FPS play. It used to be; you come around a blind corner and there stood one bad guy with an AK who shot you before you could see him and that made it a challenge and fun. (for me at least)

One of my most memorable online experiences was Rogue Spear. I remember setting up a daily server in a specific room on that god awful multiplayer server setup for custom maps and having an amazingly fun time with it. The regular game was not easy, doing multiplayer co-op was insanely fun (especially when you tried to beat entire levels with the 9mm) and multiplayer was amazingly fun. For me the franchise died with Rogue Spear because even though I enjoyed Ravenshield it didn't have the same feel.

Personally, I think Vegas jumped ship from what the feel of a R6 game should be. It changed from a tactical shooter to a "run around like a crazy person and shoot people a lot" shooter and I just couldn't get into it.

It has been said that the new Rainbow will be moving out of Las Vegas, that could be a chance to freshen up the series.
