So I've pretty much played every game that I own or can easily borrow and I don't have lots of extra income to buy new games. Also, there's not many games out that I haven't already played that I would want to buy if I had the money to do so.
Looking for something new, I hit the XBLA and downloaded some demos. Then, out of nowhere, my wife buys me some Microsoft points, saying, "Well, you've been complaining about how you don't have any games to play and I saw how much you enjoyed some of those demos, so yeah." Yes, I know that my wife is awesome, but back to the topic.
Here's my problem: I don't know what to get! So I'm doing what I did the last time I was confused about a gaming decision(http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.290057-Poll-Does-CoD-MW2-have-a-worthy-follow-up-campaign-to-CoD4-MW), turning to my fellow Escapists.
Note: I have thoroughly played Braid, Castle Crashers, Super Meat Boy, and Geometry Wars Evolved, so don't bother recommending those.
Here are the front-runners, games for which I have played the demos and have some interest in. If you're going to pick one of these, it would be great if you could either verify or dismiss my listed concerns. If you're gonna pick "other," it would be great if you could give me a good explanation for why it's worthwhile.
Shadow Complex
Interests: I really liked the demo and I'm a huge fan of "Metroidvania" style games in general. I've also heard that it that is has good replay value, with the challenge modes and such.
Concerns: I've heard that it's pretty short, as in, less-than-half-as-long-as-Castlevania: Symphony of the Night short, and for 1200 I'd like a game that will last a while.
Limbo
Interests: I like "arty" games like Braid, and from what I've played of the demo, it seems very similar.
Concerns: I've heard that it's really really short, especially considering it's 1200 points.
Rez HD
Interests: I like "psychedelic" shooters like Geometry Wars, and the addition of the Trance Vibration on extra controllers that can give me a neck or back massage while playing is great.
Concerns: Again, really short, even if it supposedly has very very high replay value.
Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2
Interests: More "psychedelic" shooter fun. Demo was great. I know that I would enjoy this game.
Concerns: The demo only had one of the several possible game modes unlocked, so I can't judge for myself if the extra game modes would improve this a lot over the first Geometry Wars Retro Evolved, which I already have.
Beyond Good & Evil HD
Interests: I've heard a lot of good things and it seems really unique.
Concerns: Though I've heard that it gets a lot better later, the demo didn't do much for me.
"The Da Vinci Disappearance" (add-on for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood)
Interests: I love Assassin's Creed. It's my favorite modern game series by far, and more ACB to tide me over until Revelations comes out would be great.
Concerns: It's hard to find good info about it's length and whether or not it's worth it because it's an add-on, not a full game.
