So I've pretty much played every game that I own or can easily borrow and I don't have lots of extra income to buy new games. Also, there's not many games out that I haven't already played that I would want to buy if I had the money to do so.

Looking for something new, I hit the XBLA and downloaded some demos. Then, out of nowhere, my wife buys me some Microsoft points, saying, "Well, you've been complaining about how you don't have any games to play and I saw how much you enjoyed some of those demos, so yeah." Yes, I know that my wife is awesome, but back to the topic.

Here's my problem: I don't know what to get! So I'm doing what I did the last time I was confused about a gaming decision(http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.290057-Poll-Does-CoD-MW2-have-a-worthy-follow-up-campaign-to-CoD4-MW), turning to my fellow Escapists.

Note: I have thoroughly played Braid, Castle Crashers, Super Meat Boy, and Geometry Wars Evolved, so don't bother recommending those.

Here are the front-runners, games for which I have played the demos and have some interest in. If you're going to pick one of these, it would be great if you could either verify or dismiss my listed concerns. If you're gonna pick "other," it would be great if you could give me a good explanation for why it's worthwhile.

Shadow Complex
Interests: I really liked the demo and I'm a huge fan of "Metroidvania" style games in general. I've also heard that it that is has good replay value, with the challenge modes and such.
Concerns: I've heard that it's pretty short, as in, less-than-half-as-long-as-Castlevania: Symphony of the Night short, and for 1200 I'd like a game that will last a while.

Limbo
Interests: I like "arty" games like Braid, and from what I've played of the demo, it seems very similar.
Concerns: I've heard that it's really really short, especially considering it's 1200 points.

Rez HD
Interests: I like "psychedelic" shooters like Geometry Wars, and the addition of the Trance Vibration on extra controllers that can give me a neck or back massage while playing is great.
Concerns: Again, really short, even if it supposedly has very very high replay value.

Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2
Interests: More "psychedelic" shooter fun. Demo was great. I know that I would enjoy this game.
Concerns: The demo only had one of the several possible game modes unlocked, so I can't judge for myself if the extra game modes would improve this a lot over the first Geometry Wars Retro Evolved, which I already have.

Beyond Good & Evil HD
Interests: I've heard a lot of good things and it seems really unique.
Concerns: Though I've heard that it gets a lot better later, the demo didn't do much for me.

"The Da Vinci Disappearance" (add-on for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood)
Interests: I love Assassin's Creed. It's my favorite modern game series by far, and more ACB to tide me over until Revelations comes out would be great.
Concerns: It's hard to find good info about it's length and whether or not it's worth it because it's an add-on, not a full game.

Okay, I would DEFINITELY recommend Rez HD - Short, yes, but tremendous replay and really really fun.

Dunno how much points you have, as this might be 1500 not 1200... But Outland is pretty awesome. It's a fun puzzley-platformer with ikaruga style gameplay.

Also: PSYCHONAUTS
Seriously, for the same price as a shorter XBLA game is a full Xbox title - It's pretty artsy, hugely fun, and way under-rated.

Check gameplay for any of them before buying and sorry for mentioning two not on your list xD

Also - Your wife sure does sound awesome ;D Does she have a gay teenage brother? ;_;

I would have voted for Magic: The Gathering if it was on the list, you will defiantly get some usage out of it although the sequel comes out on Wednesday. I would also recommend Puzzle Quest 1/2 and Aces of the Galaxy. Aces is short but quite fun in that masochistic shmup kind of way.

Shadow Complex and Limbo, definately. I have all of these xbl games and those 2 are easily my favorites.

You said you heard that Shadow Complex is pretty short, and thats true, but its doesn't drag on like other games in the same catagory. And like in Mass Effect you can play again and keep your level, so it has high replay.

And Limbo is kinda of short. 2-3 hours. But you never repeat the same puzzles. The replay isn't quite as high as Shadow Complex but Limbo itself is one of the most intuitive games out there. Even if you want to wait until the price goes down its worth playing through.

Rez HD and Geometry Wars 2 are both fun, but repetitive. I never really got into them, but they do have their fun moments.

Beyond Good & Evil has a good story, and I'd recommend it if you'd like to get into an older game. It has it's boring bits but the story was good enough to play through it once or twice.

The Da Vinci Disappearance is the only one I haven't finished yet. I played it for a couple minutes then I realized I still hadn't forgiven Ubisoft for the last time they released a game, skipped a couple in-game years of it, and then released the "skipped" parts as dlc later. Bloody intolerable if you ask me.

But if I had to pick one for you I would say Shadow Complex. I think the length is perfect, the gameplay is plenty fun and the replay is high.

Go nutz XD

Check out Comic Jumper. It's a bad superhero named Captain Smiley who has to jump into other comic books to raise money to relaunch his own failed comic series. It's one of the funniest games I've ever played.

Really, just two days?! And this is the first I've even heard of it! I freaking loved the first DotP, so now you've gotten me totally stoked.

I have a physical copy of Psychonauts on PS2 that I gave my wife for Christmas this year. It's one of my favorite games.

And no, she has an older sister who has more issues than Sports Illustrated. You wouldn't want her, for multiple different reasons.

Ah, good. So long as you've played it, then my work here is done. *puts on Hipster cape and swoops off to make people watch District Nine*

And hey, I have an aunt like that.

Limbo was great, but I know a game that puts all XBLA games to shame.

THE DISHWASHER!!

Both Dead Samurai and the sequel Vampire Smile. They are stylish, fun and easy to pick up hack 'em ups. A very underrated gem of gaming

Huh, those are all some good choices.
I'd go with Rez HD, Retro Evolved 2, or DaVinci Disappearance.

Beyond Good and Evil is a good game IMO but opinion varies from person to person.
If possible you could just pick up BG&E for PS2 in a bargain bin.

I can't really help you decide except to say that Beyond Good and Evil really does get a lot better, but if I may make a suggestion:

You said in the OP you had beaten Castle Crashers, so do you enjoy beat em ups like that? Especially more old school ones like Streets of Rage, the Arcade TMNT and X-men games? If so get the Scott Pilgrim demo and give that a shot, its hard at first but I thought it was fantastic. Scratched an itch I didn't know I had :p

Hope this helps.
