Hey Guys!

I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment because as an Xbox owner there are some good games being bandied about right now, namely Red Dead Redemption and Halo Reach, and unfortunately as a 15 year old without a job I cant afford to buy hundreds of games unlike you lucky people soI need your help should I get Reach,Red Dead Redemption or some other game and if I should get something different what should it be?

Also feel free to discuss the relative merits of the various games that will come up in the discussion.

You should do your own research and decided which game you want to buy based on your own opinions as they are two very different games.

On a another note, don't buy Prince of Persia: The Fogotten Sands. Not only does it kill the original tilogies story, I was able to completely beat it within 14 1/2 hours (Achievements and all.)

Why can't you look at the games and see which one you'll like more? Do you like sci-fi first person shooters? Pick Reach. Do you like open world Westerns? Get Red Dead Redemption. I'm not you, so I can't decide for you.

Reach isn't out until September. So I would go with Red Dead, but really if you haven't played Mass Effect 2 you should get that instead, it will last you the entire summer, seriously. Mass Effect 1 is pretty cheap now too so I reckon you would have enough for both.

Reach isn't out till Spetember, so maybe get a job this summer and save up some cash.

Best of both worlds.

If you can't get a job, see if you can do various odd jobs for cash. The game is only $60, so you can buy RDR now, and save up until September.

I'm pretty biased against the Halo franchise, so take what I have to say with a pile of salt.
RDR is an amazing game, and there really aren't many western shooters out. The story is good, the characters are entertaining, and the world is stunningly beautiful. I haven't touched multiplayer, but my brother assured me that it is quite fun. Plus, it is out right now, while Reach isn't.

Now Reach is just another Halo game, right? No new story, no new...well, anything. If multiplayer is all you're after, you might as well get it, but you'd be missing out on a great game.

Get Alan Wake. For the mystery solver within.
Nice going thinking outside the box. £40 for a special edition pack?! Best bargain I've had in years.

I just have to say that reach is really different than any other halo game. based on the bata I know people who hated all other halos that liked this one but also some people who loved other halos who didn't like reach. I personally liked it and other halos but my point is even if your biased its worth at least a try.

on topic RDE reach isn't out till september so cant really compare

Get Red Reach Redeaming Halo!

Seriously, from what I've seen Red Dead is pretty much like GTA set up in the wild west, so if you're a Halo fan, get Reach, if not, get Alan Wake. Just my uneducated opinion.

Red Dead Redemption is a great game, but it's also rated 18, so you may find you'll be denied a copy by the shops (also any parental controls on your 360 may lock you out of the game).

If you can obtain a copy without many problems, then by all means go for it, since it's awesome, and it would be a shame to have to "settle" for Halo Reach any other game because of factors beyond your control.

I have no real experience of, or any interest in the Halo franchise, so I can't recommend or discourage you choosing Halo Reach, but Red Dead Redemption is a good game.

Have you considered trying to borrow or rent a copy of Red Dead Redemption to see whether you like it or not?

Halo Reach is months away, surely you can save for both in that time. I mean £80 isn't an impossible amount of money to gain, when I was 15 I got a paper route on sunday mornings. Paid for my various games as a youngling. Seriously though, Red Dead is a great game and I would reccomend it to anyone. From the Beta, Reach is also set to be great. I'd get Red dead now, and ask for Reach for Christmas. Either way, don't be dissapointed as you will be getting a great game in either scenario.

I'd suggest it's changed alot, you know with a new story, controls, weapons, abilities (a completely new thing to halo so a real game changer), recoil (no more shoot=hit for successive shots), etc etc. Though, I do understand your likely coming from an outsider perspective and to you it looks like the same game because it's in the same universe and has Halo in the title, which I totally understand, but as a fan of halo you can really tell this is a totally different beast to play.

I apologise, that sounded overly bitching and rude. What I mean to say is, Dislike reach but please don't say their isn't anything new as it clearly isn't the case.

Buy Red Dead Redemption now, Halo Reach comes out in September so I'm sure you'll have some money by then. I'm personally waiting on Starcraft 2 this July, but that's PC only of course.
