Oh, never played it. Got kinda overshadowed by Oblivion didn't it?

It's very popular around the more PC-leaning community here, though. So, it comes up now and then.

Morrowind was original Xbox/PC only.

Wizards don't use stairs.

I love little trinkets, so I love Telvanni. Rising in the ranks was a ***** though, didn't use magic much. I probably would have enjoyed the game a whole lot more if I got it for PC, my XBOX kept choking on all the awesome it had. I remember that it crashed the moment I tried to use this one Telvanni amulet to summon all three atronachs at once. What a let down, worked hard to get that thing and couldn't even use it. Saryoni was still a cool guy though.

Hlaalu, Honour is for chumps and Divayth Fyr (I would say Gothren but hell, he's a *****) himself couldn't stand to my dagger between his ribs. Money makes the world go round!

If only we could play all of Morrowind instead of Vvardenfel, I'd have house Hlaalu ruling unopposed in a heartbeat. Then the rest of Tamriel! Then the entirety of Nirn! Hell, lets get Masser and Secunda too!

Plus their Stronghold is the only one that isn't in an Ash Storm blighted arse end of nowhere.

Redoran. I didn't care for Hlaalu and the Telvanni pissed me off. I don't care for the ash storms, though.

Also a good character, but again, Bethesda Kleptomania. My favorite thing to do (I suggest everyone do this next time they play) is to steal every single light source (lanterns, candles, etc.) that isn't bolted to a wall and put it all in Fargoth's house. Eventually it will be so bright it'll be difficult to see. It's hilarious. Why Fargoth? He kind of bothers me and I was also hoping that they might burn his house down too.

Hlaalu. Solely because it was the only house I took to completion, even though it was with a Paladin-type class who really wasn't all that sneaky and charming.

Hlaau is good because you can become grandmaster by killing everyone at the Dren Plantation, but I liked the Telvanni fort better, however, I hated having it in an area prone to ashstorms.

Telvanni, cause I favor magic. I prefer to imagine though, since my main character became head of Telvanni AND the mages guild, that they became united and that Telvanni became nicer after most of the counselors were killed for one reason or another.

Redoran second...cause I love Ald Ruhn. No matter what House I joined, I usually lived there.

I'm first and foremost a Hlaalu man. They're perfect for my favourite playstyle as the sneaky, yet charming, assassin. They favour mercantile, light armor, marksman, speechcraft, short blade and security.

I always end up raiding Ghostfence for the glass armour set that's there anyway, so yeah.
If they are as this user describes them, then chances are its hlaalu. I never really liked Morrowind :(

Edit: Not hating on morrowind in a thread that shows favor to morrowind (that'd be stupid ;P), just explaining why I don't know for a fact that they are like that.

Hlaalu, bitches. Gotta side with my monarchy. Keeps me safe at night. Last thing you want is King Helseth wanting you dead.

And we have Crassius Curio. That makes us awesome. Or creepy. Maybe both.

I picked hlaalu, simply because the your estate ended up being the closest to a major city. The rest...well I wasn't always up to hiking, even with mark and recall.

I went with all three across various characters. I don't remember which I did first but my favourite was the Hlaalu because my Nordic Warrior raised through the ranks so freakin' fast I couldn't believe it. Made me feel like I was actually powerful and deserving of respect. Plus, Hlaalu is just a cool sounding word, it rolls off the tongue nicely. Hlaalu. Hlaalu... Hlaaaaaallluuuu.....

Hlaalu, because of a glitch.

My Argonian was finishing a quest, and I had to meet with a big shot up in a tower with some other big shots. After I finished the quest, I started chatting up everyone else in the room.

Apparently, one of guys in this room is a leader of House Hlaalu, and he is bugged.

I talked to him and he congratulated me on a job well done, and named me Grandmaster of House Hlaalu. This is strange because I had not done a quest for him, and I was not a member of Hlaalu. At least, I wasn't before. After I got done talking with him, I checked my character sheet and sure enough, I was now a part of Hlaalu, though I held the lowest rank. I talked to him again and he said my rank was too low to be seen with him (even though he just called me Grandmaster a few seconds ago.) IIRC, you can't change houses once you join one, so I just rolled with it.

Whatever. Having your own (mini) estate with servant and guard is kinda neat.

EDIT: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Redoran_or_Telvanni_and_Hlaalu talks a little bit about the glitch. I didn't do exactly what is mentioned here, but I still had the same effect - forced into Hlaalu without even realizing it.

I have to admit that I never got that far into Morrowind. Every time I play it, I get about halfway thru the story before I become a bloodcraving murderous psycho and kill every last thing on the planet. I might go back to it and try to get thru it.

I'm a Rogue who plays as a Redoran. Honestly of the three houses Redoran are badasses that are surpassed only by the Buayont Armigers.
