I noticed about a week ago that I hadn't had my fill of Reliable Source in quite a while, but I put it down to having missed it on the front page and some point during the week. After searching The Escapist I discovered that there hadn't been one in ~2 weeks.

"No worries," said I, "he must be away on holiday." Nevertheless, I did drop a note on a random topic about what had happened to the column, to which I was told that dear Mr. Cox had been cancelled (thanks Gumiver).

As far as I can tell, nothing else on the site has been so viciously scrapped; I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I had always thought the articles quite popular and to me they were the best articles on the site.

Surely I can't be the only one who misses it so;, anyone else want it back?

[small]I'm aware he still writes it on his blog, but I'd still like it back on the Escapist.[/small]

It seems as the Escapist slowly steers toward the road of "business" that they seem to be adopting the GE doctrine (i.e. lower 10% are let go).

Then again, the Escapist does have a history of brutally maiming some of its content. Maybe one day if ZP ever dries up they might give it the same treatment.

Reliable Source is gone!? No wonder I haven't seen it recently. Well that sucks, I thought that was definitely the best non-video feature on this site, forums not included.

GE?

And still, if they've got all the advertising and they're doing the member's club thing, I'd of thought they wouldn't mind keeping stuff like that. Like I said, I haven't noticed anything else go yet.

De Rez was cruelly taken from us, I believe UR was also disposed of like an OLD JAR OF RASPBERRY JAM.

Themis Media and the Escapist are a company, if you don't make the grade you don't make the cut, simple.

This isn't our site, its our playground, but its not our site.

I think its a better way of getting entertainment to be honest, good stuff stays, bad stuff goes. Take a look at newsgrounds or youtube and their policy of "keep any crap" for how not to run a site.

That is disgusting.

Anyway, Youtube isn't a fair comparison - it's there so people can show whatever they want (within reason), as a company you can't then chuck a video because you think it's crap.

What?! I'm outraged! This was the cleverest and most interesting thing on this site! I'd just chalked his absence up to the online relationship mentioned in his last column, and thought we were in for a crazy story about love and loss in Los Angeles when he got back!

He still writes it on his blog, although it's a shame he now doesn't get paid for it.

I also miss Going Gold. Best thing about the Escapist is the written articles so hopefully they arn't dropping them in favour of more videos.
