I just bought Resident Evil 5 and I noticed that I'm given three choices of difficulty. I was wondering from those who have played on Veteran, how hard is it exactly? I've heard that it was like playing CoD 4 on veteran but I just don't buy it. Anyone have a better comparison?

i played through normal a couple of times just to do up the weapons and unlock the infinite magnum ammo. then i'll play through veteren a few times to get the infinte hand cannon ammo.

Professional on the other hand is discustingly hard. one hit by the enemies and your dead. took me and my mate an hour to get past the boss level where you have to fight the giant

Veteran was my starting difficulty, and wow, I ended up having to drop it back to normal due to lack of ammo.

Professional, I wouldn't have beaten it without infinite ammo....

I'm told that Resi 5 is just a TEENSY bit easier than Resi 4. That being said the Veteran state seems to trump people pretty hard... I never really had many problems with Resi 4 on the hardest difficulty, so I guess that it would be a breeze for me.

So if you upgrade a weapon from a normal difficulty, you can have that same weapon on veteran?

Yes, the game was designed to be played multiple times.

Profesional is more like COD4 on veteran, if you don't use infinite ammo guns.

Yeah, if you're going to be trying Pro, make sure you've got a fairly competent buddy. And don't get hit. Ever. Ever. EVER.

Veteran's pretty easy once you beat THAT.

I play on normal my first time on any game. I want to get through the story and perhaps unlock the hardest difficulty. Plus I've heard that it's really hard without someone online with you so I played it on Normal just in case.

Doesn't the instant application of infinite ammo to any level of game play that you have, prior to your Godlike acquisition, not tried (Veteren or Prof), take the steam out of how hard that level of difficulty is SUPPOSED to be?

I started on normal, finished it without problems (apart from the occasional failed quicktime), now grinding money for a infinite ammo magnum.

I tried co-op with a friend, played on amateur in case any difficulty might ruin the fun.
