What do you guys think? (Ignoring the fact that Capcom made us pay for the DLC that was already on the disc, this is about the actual game play.)
Personally, I hate it. Resident Evil was not meant for multilayer and although I am all for new ideas, this was executed horribly. Most battles usually come down to two people running at each other, stopping once they are close enough to make sure not a single bullet misses, and then having at it with machine guns. It feels like an even clunker gears of war.
This mode could have been made great if Capcom made some versus mode specific maps (Merc maps = shooting zombies, not people)and tweaked a few elements of game play. First off, people need to die faster, like call of duty death fast. It is pointless to try and engage your enemy at long range in this current state because you have no hope of killing. It takes about 10 pistol shots to put someone in dying state, and then a few more to finish the job. This is absurd. Death in 2-3 shots would make long range viable. To compensate for this increase in damage these news maps would be littered with areas to use the take cover option in. I'm sure epic battles would break out very quickly. On a side note, Capcom also needs to greatly up the number of players allowed in each battle. I'm talking 6v6 or 8v8. And get rid of those damn zombies in survivor mode. People downloaded this mode to kill each other, not more NPCs.
That's my 2 cents at least...
