Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum.
A few months ago me and a friend of mine completed resident evil 5,
now we looked up when the next resident evil would come out, and
there was an upcomming thingy for the wii in december (europe) if i'm right.(Edit: With this i do mean Darkside chronicles)
but it was not like the real RE6, do you guys know more about it? (Edit: well "real" becuase it has the number in the title, but I thought that one would come out in 2012 - seems pretty long for me)

(btw I was a amv maker a long time ago and I posted a video about my thoughts on
Resident evil 6 on youtube, if you want to watch it just go to: http://www.youtube.com/user/maxomilliano its my latest upload)

i think it would be a good idea if they used the resident evil 4 over the shoulder shooter method and put you in the remains of raccoon city, fighting hordes of zombies with automatic weapons.

I think that you've read about Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles. It's an upcoming on-rails shooter for the wii.

i want more. it would be quite cool to go back to the t-virus though, proper zombies instead of these hybrid things we've got at the moment. i'm looking forward to resi 6, whenever that may be.

It seems to me that the RE series has gone the way of Final Fantasy. Spin-offs, remakes, and a true sequel every few years that may or may not be tremendously disappointing.

And like FF games, we'll be sure to buy every new one that comes out, only to whine about its quality on the interweb shortly thereafter.

I love the series but I will admit that it's starting to go off the trail. I thought they were going back to the roots with RE5, but they didn't. They kinda...made it worse.
If they can get it back on track and up to par with the pre-RE4 games (though, RE4 is good, it's just very different) then we'll be good to go and I'll totally agree with making a ton more. xD

I want a game where you're Albert Wesker and you illegally aquire funding to make super-soldiers and take over a town covertly, slowly starting you domination of the world.
You must fend off the attempts by the government to stop you and command your powerful troops.

That would be awesome.

I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that the next RE game won't come out for a couple of years.

I'm always in favour of more Resi titles, but IMO, it needs something to change, preferably the movement of the character.
- something like Dead Space's movement (walk & gun) would be fantastic.
Thought they were going to do that with RE5... but was bitterly disappointed.

They'll end up halo-ing,mario and other nintendo series-ing it. Milking it. It should have ended at RE4
Why? Explain. To avoid milking? I don't understand. RE4 was the best installment. There's no reason to believe it was going to get worse.

I hadn't played a Resi game until number 5 came out, but I really enjoyed playing it.

I'd definetly buy a 6th game, but what I'd want is a little more weaponry and a lot more customisation. The online co-op was also a really good idea, so I'd love to see that come back. I'm sure people would say that it copies L4D if it did this, but I'd want to see more players in a co-op match. 4 would be fine, but I don't mind if it stays as 2.

As for gameplay, I'm fine with the current system of over-the-shoulder stuff - although Dead Space was a little more forgiving, so perhaps next time Resi could give players a little more control over the characters.

In terms of story, like I said, I'm not a Resi-buff, so I don't know much about the storyline of the series. What I can say, though, is that I really liked Chris Redfield in Resi 5. I'd love to play as him again. Not just for the feeling of safety that his improbably sized triceps give me, but because he's a very level-headed and cool character. Honestly, one of the more believable action-heroes that I've played as in recent gaming memory.

They should return to the survival horror thats actualy tense, scary, and suspenseful. Not the quasi pseudo action horror where scary is just ugly and gory.

I remember seeing a press release where one of the game's designers said that he specifically wasn't going to change the system because it makes the game more tense if you have to stand still while you shoot.

I'm fine with the current system - it's not like it's broken or anything - but I agree with you, I think it would benefit from taking a few cues from Dead Space.

Well, I loved RE4 to death but they somehow managed to mess up the controls for RE5 (atleast the demo) to make it beyond frustrating, which is why I did not play that one nor any of the ones before RE4. If they re-work them, RE6 could be another classic like RE4 was.

I liked 4 and 5 and given Capcom's history with franchises (MegaMan, Street Fighter) seems Resident Evil 6 is only a matter of time. I wonder how we'll beat the last boss though...
