Poll: Resistance 1+2 = 3 or does it.

Hello!
I'm looking forward to Resistance 3 quite a bit, it looks like an intriguing game, but I was wondering, should I get the first two games and complete those? Or should I be able to enjoy the 3rd without?

Oh heck yes. Both are some of my favorite FPS's ever. I would recommended them even if you did not plan on getting 3. Story-wise, you could make do without Resistance 1 and still understand the basic story I think, but you will definitely need Resistance 2 if you want to understand what is happening in 3 (At least from the info I have at the moment this seems to be the case).

Well if you want to try out the gameplay of Resistance before buying the 3rd one, by all means but for story it probably isn't worth it.

You must play Resistance. Amazing game, and it sets up the story. Once you beat Resistance, you'll have a cliff-hanger ending with Hale. If you are like me, you'll want to know what happens, so you'll need to pick up Resistance 2. The story in the second game is not all that great, and most of it can be summed up with "America finally gets invaded. Same fate as the rest of the world." I.E. America loses. However, the second game does introduce the hero for the third game, so you may want to know his background.

Now, if you don't care about the story (or are satisfied just reading about it on the internet), then you don't really need the first two games. I would suggest you get them however, as they are both rather cheap now.

They say that this game is made for new fans as well as the old. Having said that, I still recommend at least renting the first two because they are great games.

The first one is fun even though it doesnt really bring anything new to the fps table, but i never played the second one so it could be different.
I'd say buy them or at least rent.

dude, (or dudette), those two games in my opinion are two of the best games i have ever played, i would definatly suggest playing those first

Really? I always felt Resistance 1 was the far superior game, I mean don't get me wrong, Resistance 2 was still a great game, but I just felt Resistance 1 was so much better. Although looking forward to the weapons upgrading in Resistance 3, Ratchet and Clank style.
