Both are $29.99. Both are sequels. Both use L2 to crouch. Both have some form of regenerating health. Both are FPSeseseses.

So, which should I get? I liked Resistance 1 enough for the hour that I've played it so far. Haven't been blown away or anything. Also, I liked the Killzone 2 demo, too.

And I don't have any "competive" multiplayer FPS games yet for my PS3, either.

I haven't played Resistance 2, admittedly... but if it controls anything like Resistance 1, I'd go for that. I played Killzone 2 and, while it is a damned pretty game, the controls do feel a little bit floaty. Damned good multiplayer mode though.

That said, I'd still go for Resistance 2, if its anything like Resistance 1.

Alright. Who voted for the Twiligiht movies? I hate you for voting for that joke option over the other one.

And can people give me some pros and cons for each game?

Also, posting from the PS3 browser is annoying. Even with a keyboard.

Resistance 2 online is really fun the campaigns for both games were average, but the MP in Killzone 2 bored me to death and so many others.

So go with Resistance 2.

Oh and Resistance 1 campaign was a whole lot better than the campaigns for both those games. There was a bit of survival horror in it.

OT: Get KZ2. It's a pretty entertaining game, even though the controls are a bit clunky

Killzone 2 is awful imo. I didn't know my head weighed 2 fucking tons. Even with sensitivity up, the whole game just feels heavy.

Resistance was solid, but I got bored. Not deep enough, in single player or multiplayer.

I vote Left 4 Dead 2. =p

Killzone 2 everytime. The mulitplayer is actually good. Resistance 2 isn't half as good as the first one.

Killzone 2.

Resistance 2 has kinda a weak Single player campaign compared to Killzone 2. The co-op multiplayer was fun though.

Killzone 2 has an incredibly fun campaign and the multiplayer is decent though i haven;t spent much time in it. People complain about the sensitivity but i actually really liked it that way and am quite sad to hear they are axeing it for Killzone 3.

Killzone it is. Thanks, people!

The deciding factor was the Destructoid review mentioning cheap deaths in single player and spawn camping in multiplayer in R2.

Well the thread didn't die...so...I still haven't decided now.

If you get Resistance 2 let it be known that you will get anally raped by people like me :p and since most people have already maxed out their level rating barely anyone plays ranked matches but the unranked 30v30 TDM are awesome!

EDIT: Forgot to talk about Killzopne 2 :p that game takes a while to get used to and believe me the games issues aren't really the controls. If you end up getting it find some 16 player MP matches, you gain more XP and they are less chaotic (and sometimes more fun). You'll find yourself basically using the ol' reliable ISA rifle but you should know that you'll never hit anything unless you are crouched and fire in bursts. It adds some realism that you don't find in other games that make you as accurate as Naked Snake.

*BTW since your last thread on PS3 games did you get MGS4? You really need to play that game. Also whats your PSN account id?

You can't spawn camp. o_O When the enemy overrun your spawn you respawn on the other side of the map, and the maps are HUGE.

Resistance, the humans vs aliens thing is awesome!

You and gang of random people or friends go through a short skirmish killing tonnes of enemies, the more humans there are the more enemies there are and the "bosses" get a higher rank (aka a metric fuck tonne more health) so no matter what there is still a challenge.

You 1 of 4 classes, basically, the heavy, enigy/sniper and soldier with a machine gun instead of a rocket launcher and the doc. Heavy - mini gun and shield, engiy/sniper - sniper but throws ammo down for peeps, soldier - machine gun, medic gun that steals health and alt fires a healing ring (can get a machine gun with a little leveling).

You can do the usual player vs player if you want.

Really good game and last time I checked (which was about 3 months ago) it was still going strong online.

Really nice fast paced action.

KZ2 is trying to solve a rubix cube quickly wearing oven gloves, just feels clunky and clumsy. I played it for a few hours and lost count of the times I was spawn camped, killed by team mates blocking doors or making my nades bounce off them.

I know which one I prefer ... I am going to play it tomorrow, thanks for reminding me how great R2 is.

I remember playing resistance 2 and it was full of glitchers, but other than that, FANTASTIC game. Killzone 2 is great as well, the online is actually some of the best I'v played.

I kind of lean twords Resistance 2 though. More replay value.

The controls in KZ2 are "heavy" feeling, but that's mainly to create the feeling that you're ACTUALLY wielding a weapon. The developers themselves claimed it was intentional. You get used to it after a bit, and it's actually somewhat immersive.

Resistance 2....far better game. Everyone raves about Killzone being the FPS you must buy a ps3 for but in my opinion Resistance 2 is.

I'd say Resistance 2. The campaign was pretty fun and the environments varied(for example flooded Chicago streets, canyons in Utah, and swamps in Louisiana). The change in scenery every chapter was nice and refreshing. Killzone's campaign was fun but the environment was pretty much the same throughout the game(it did change every now and then but it was always so dark, gritty, and just felt the same). The weapons in Resistance each have their own unique ability. For example the revolver has explosive charges in it's bullets that you can detonate anytime after you fire them, the minigun can generate a barrier for a short time to protect you, and a machine gun called the Bullseye can fire a round that locks onto an enemy. After you're locked on you can hit them regardless of where they are, even if they're behind cover. Killzone 2 for some reason took away all the secondary abilities of it's weapons, I'm pretty confused why. All in all they're both great games, but I'd say Resistance 2 is the better game. Not just because of the few example is gave, it's just I had more fun with the game.

Yeah kilzone 2 does feel heavy. But the graphics are intense and to get anywhere in the multiplayer you have to work with everyone else. It's also more real in a way that COD's twitchy no scoping ping pong isn't. Resistance has an awesome co-op that is mega-immersive and fun, and it feels great working with other guys to bring down a stalker, and swagging a butt-load of gray tech. So, if you like co-op, Resistance 2. If you like immersion, Killzone 2. Simple.
