Poll: Respawn Patience

After watching my brother play Halo 3 for awhile, I noticed that everytime he died, he would go to the start menu and restart his checkpoints instead of just waiting for it. After noticing this, I started to wonder how many other gamers perform this act. How many people are too impatient to wait 3 extra seconds to respawn. Note that this does not mean Halo specificlly. It can be for any game.

I don't have much against respawn timers. It's great when you're thirsty and need something to drink.

I usually do something else while waiting. Like catch up on my work or do any multitude of other things. (I work from home for now)

Most respawn timers are just enough for you to get over your death and calm down so I just wait it out. (Unless it's online and the server has an extended respawn time)

That's one of the thinds I like about search and destroy, when you're having an off day you have plenty of opportunities to use the little men's room.

Mob respawns are the worst. In Perfect World, there are monsters respawn once every twelve hours, and you have to successfully capture five of them in order to get a rare pet.
I tried for two weeks, but never was able to find them.
But what am I saying? It is an MMO, after all.

Nothing more annoying then having to kill 50 of some monster that only has a 5% chance of respawning.

Or, if you have to wait until the next round to spawn (Like in sudden death mode or something) they usually let you watch one of your teammates play. I'll just watch unless I want to go get a drink or something. Plus it's a good way to keep track of if your team is winning or not. It's like first-person sports.

After getting pissed off because I died a few times, I'll just start doing it manually. But for the most part I'm far to lazy.

YEah, I'm surprised how impatient I can be in Team Fortress 2, when you see the other team descending on your final point while you're dead and there's still EIGHT seconds before you can get back in there. 8 seconds never felt so long, heh.

Manual, I prefer anyway. i mainly play halo 3 online and it frustrates me how stupid people are and how much they SUCK (1 man defence and they STILL can't capture the flag in a 4v4 game? God.) so I just yell ^.^
Having them teamkill me, and thanks to bungie's system of tk (if you've played halo onlien, you'd know) then it counts it as an ENEMY kill >.< like if they shoot me with rockets when I'm weak and just pwnt 2 of 3 guys so he shoots me and dies to the 3rd. God.

My sentiments exactly. In that sort of game, any wait for respawn is criminal.

That's somewhat the point. I usually wait calmfully for respawn, taking a snack, or drinking something within time of these 15 seconds.

The problem arises, when my team is a bunch of morons, and instead of protecting / pushing the cart, they run around the map, trying to earn frags -.-

Got no choice but the wait the 15 second spawn timer out in 2142. Although I'll often hold my spawn just to get a good look at the map and see how the 'plan' (hah) is working out.

I just wait it out. No point in gaining that extra few seconds, that and I am to lazy to do it every time I die. But online, you can just use the time to call the person who killed you hurt full names.
