When it comes to games, are you a retro gamer, who usually doesn't buy the latest of the latest, and stick to your good old Commodore 64 or something like that, or are you a modern gamer, who love the new games and/or the shiny graphics and buys modern game whenever given the chance?

I'm somewhere in between. I prefer retro games, as some of my favorites are at least 10 years old, but I like getting new games to keep it fresh.

I'm more of a modern gamer, but there are some older games I love...
such as Future Cop L.A.P.D. and Tombi II.
and others. but I usually play modern games.

Modern, except I like to wait for a lot of games to get cheaper.

I personally prefer Retro games, mainly due to all the fun I had as a kid.
Nostalgia has blinded me.

A person can be a modern gamer without being a graphics whore... like me... I consider myself a modern gamer because I don't re-play any old games that I've beaten. Mind you, I usually try to do everything in a game before I consider it beaten so it's not like I'm going through games like candy, but I still prefer getting a new game I haven't touched to going back and doing something over again.

Add up "retro" and "somewhere between both" you have about 42% playing retro nearly all the time or some of the time. That, my friends, is a revolution! If you added in whether you played casual, indie or major AAA games, I am sure we are now at over 50% who no longer give a fig about graphics!

This change, if it filters through to the developer's and publisher's, could make forced PC upgrading every 12-18 months a thing of the past! This, in turn, could lead to a PC gaming resurgence, given that 'constant upgrading' is th number one reason people give for not being a PC gamer!!!

I'm definitely somewhere in between. I often have much better things upon which to spend my money. So, I don't mind waiting to play a game until boredom sufficiently motivates me to try a new one.
