One of the great games in the world is Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic. And a big deal in that game was the choice to be good or bad. Well, the question is this: Which one do you prefer, Sith Lord, or Jedi Knight? I was a Jedi Knight the first time I played, but each time since, I've been a Sith Lord.

i've done both endings... and this actually happens with any game with moral choice that i prefer the good ending..... i don't know why i just feel evil for taking the evil path...

The evil in me, it calls. It tells me "That guy looked at you funny, don't take that." So I get medieval on his ass. Though this happens with almost anyone, or anything (even rocks and plants) I walk past.

Revan. I'm a sucker for stories of redemption, and you can't get much more interesting or redemptiony-er of a story than KOTOR's. (Still the best Star Wars story told in the past 20 years.)

I always play through a game along the good path first, then the evil path the second time around. I did the same for both Knights of the Old Republic as well as The Sith Lords. They're both highly rewarding games that give you a fulfilling experience regardless of whether or not you go with the canonical option.

This. The evil ending has never felt completely right to me, also.... Plus, in the good ending, you get some nice medals

technically, Revan isn't his name, it's his Sith Name.

So if you reject the Darth, you also reject the Revan.

Well, Revan is all they ever called him. They called him that even when they referred to his years as a Jedi. I'm pretty sure that is his name. And if not, well then we don't know his name, so, Revan it is.

I preferred evil. Its great when an innocent character says "Please help me!" and you can just attack him. One of the only games I've played where it doesn't go to the game over screen immediately.

I prefer Darth Revan. After all he gets to do what he wants and gets a pretty apprentice. Besides it is much more fun to show the stuck-on-rules-and-traditions jedi that their plan to control Darth Revan fails hard.
Besides whats not to like about the powers of the dark side (their morality might have a few issues though)

On my first play through in a RPG, I almost invariably always go good. Specifically because evil characters tend to get dicked on XP and loot, and playing it good lets you pick up more of the side quests and what not, so you get to explore the game a bit more.

Every play through after that though, I'm usually an utter bastard.

With KOTOR, I played it good, using mostly self-buffing neutral powers so that my dual wielding jedi sentinal would turn into a giant whirlwind of lightsabery death, however I dabbled in some dark side powers, mostly due to a bit of a min/maxing habit. Plague was just way too damn good to pass up.

-12 to physical stats PLUS they get slowed AND it has a DC of 100? This power makes every boss fight a complete joke.

I always end up being good in the beginning but turning evil in the end. My dual blades orange lightsaber makes me turn evil, most of the time. Stupid speederbike races.

I play as a good guy. Being evil feels too much like... evil?

Darth Revan looked much cooler though.

Yeah i have to say shiny medals > Evil
Dudes, in the dark side ending you get the Star Forge! You could make infinite amounts of medals with that!

I played through the game, just about staying on the light side of the fence, then what's his face (Malak?) took Bastilia and well, I apparently lost it. Suddenly I'm taking the shortest route everywhere (generally through people) and when it came to the option of ruling the galaxy with Bastila at my side, I just couldn't turn down the offer.

I have a question, was it actually possible to convince Bastila to return to the light side of the force because I could never manage it.....

The best star wars story IMO. I did not care to much for the movies but maybe that has got do do with my hatred of Harrison Ford.

I play dark but when i have the will power to go light i do because i find it offers more complex gameplay

Yes, I did it a few times. But the time to do it is on the planet, on top of the temple when she first offers to be your Sith apprentice, and not on the Star Forge itself. By that point in the game, the decision is already final, it's too late to change it.
