Dammit, I thought this was a "Who would win in a fight?" thread! Now, I don't know what to think!

Eh, I'm nonsexual, so I take the bot, tinker about inside the cranium until I have disabled the sex features, then make friends with it :D
Teach it what is right and wrong in this world, and send it out as a Terran crusader :D

I would feel....extremely uncomfortable having sex with a machine. I don't think I could bring myself to do it, no matter how realistic it might seem.

because I like to cuddle.
And I understand she has no emotions, but does she have that monotone voice as well?
I would turn down the robot, I still need love. I'll wait for holodecks, they can produce emotion, and I can go anywhere and create any situation I want.

Besides, holodecks would be the ultimate gaming platform. The problem is, if I owned my own holodeck, I would probably live my life in it. Why buy furniture and other entertainment when a holdeck provides everything, well as long as we also create something like food replicators, now that would be awesome I could eat whatever I wanted without lifting a finger to make it, or buy it.

Um.... Wtf?

No seriously, wtf? If all you're after is sex with a machine, however realistic it is, you really need to re-think your life.
Why? After all, at some threshold of realism, what definable characteristic would differentiate a person from a machine for this purpose?

As an example, consider Blade Runner's robots. Only an in depth psychological exam could reveal if someone was an android or not. In at least one case, an android wasn't even aware they weren't human in the literal sense.

I'm sorry, all I can think of it "I'm Fisto, Please assume the position" (From NV, paraphrased)

I'd probably cave if a proper, self-cleaning pleasurebot hit the market, but I wouldn't dump my wife for it.

That quest, in general, was actually really funny. One "customer" wants as sex bot (which is apparently a re purposed Protectron), another a Cowboy Ghoul (that is oddly specific isn't it?) and a third a slimy ladies man. The conversation with the Ghoul and the Robot actually had me laughing.

Hypothetical scenario for you guys here: if you had a fully functional sex-robot, one that perfectly replicated sex with a human, and you could program to do anything, including seem into it, would you still try to get a girlfriend? Now, though your fuck-bot can replicate a human physically, it doesn't feel any emotions or feelings whatsoever.
Note:Even better-your sex-bot can shape-shift and assume the form of any woman you wanted
I'll stick with my g/f. If you take away love, personalty and all that, I still wanna fuck her. Why, because it is so personal. If were are out for dinner with mates and some one says she is looking well, thats great, it is a social environment; but I'm the only one in the room that knows what her face looks like when she comes, what her moves are when she is doing oral, what her girl parts look like. Other guys might wanna know, they might go home and have a wank thinking about it, but I'm the only one thats gonna see it.

Its like if were are out, or wherever and she gives me a look that says "I want you to fuck the arse off me", its private and personal, its out dirty secret.

For me that is a big part of sex. A robot could not do that.

I'm going to have to say that I'm going to stick to my girlfriend. Other than the fact that she's amazing, the idea of sleeping with a robot seems...a little too weird to me. Not that I can't understand the draw, but there's something about it that just seems wrong to me.

I mean, I'm certainly not going to look down on those that do. After all, they're not hurting anyone and they're satisfying a basic human need. I just prefer a woman over a machine anyday. Even if it is a rediculously hot and realistic machine, I'd still have to go with the woman. Unless I didn't know, I guess. Does not knowing count? XD

I'd probably just reprogram the fuck-bot to be a maid, seeing as how I'm an asexual, which means I don't enjoy sex.

This is actually a concept that scientists are working on. It might be possible in the future!

Yet, people have needs, and with the large population we don't really need such an epic large population anymore. So if someone isn't discriminating against robots to cause the Matrix, he/she might as well try to get whoopie with a friend of wire and steel.

On the other hand. No emotion? But that's the fun of it! Emotion enhights the experience, without emotion it's like screwing HAL. "Ooh, aah, I like that, Folio. More." *shivers*

Being autistic myself, I hardly know that much about social interactions. Maybe I'm too young/hasty/inexperienced, or just awkward/ugly. I don't know. Getting a 'Jenny' is the easy way out. But is it the best way?

It'd be quite enjoyable as a quick "get you off" tool, or practice ... but unless it was terribly realistic and really just a fully formed gynoid, it may as well be a robot whore.

I mean ... I don't have a GF at the moment, but I still have a good number of RL friends despite having a good deal of online-only contacts - who you could for all practical purposes call robot buddies.

I mean ... I love you all, robot buds, but it's just not the full experience, is it? Humans need interaction.

Not to mention that the proper act of lovemaking is one of mutually giving pleasure to the other partner(...s). With the 'bot, it's all me me me. It's a philosophical nightmare and probably quite a useful tool for psychological diagnoses.
