What are your opinions on it? I was just watching the IGN videos, and it looks pretty cool. It also seems hella hard (guitar especiallY, and they might just be looking for a way to whore out more money - different guitar, different drumset, new keyboard - dang. Of course, we'll have to wait until the holidays this year, but still - speculations?

There is an over saturation of music games in my opinion. Its lost its fun when you buy almost the same game with new songs and a couple new things to put on characters.

I'll probably look seriously into buying it, at least with Harmonix and your traditional Rock Band games there's enough innovation and improvement to justify a purchase. Plus they don't come out several times a year.

Unlike their competitors, who think that adding a "party mode" is a significant leap forward, and enough to slap an extra number on the title and charge full price.

Activision kills another genre? Shocking!

I definitely want to try it, but I don't want to buy it. I get why they're trying to make things more realistic, and more of a "let's teach the kiddies how to play instruments!" kind of game, but personally I'd rather keep it 'arcadey', and leave the realistic stuff to practising the instruments I actually play fo' real.

Well they did mention they're going to have a normal made and a "pro" mode. Normal is what you're used to, five lane track and everything, but pro is the actual frets, strings, etc.

I still don't care about Rock Band. To me, those games are cash grabs, nothing more.

Well yes, but you know they're going to be spending the most effort on the new and 'sellable' aspects of the game.

Can't fucking wait. Even GH6 looks to be pulling it's head out of it's arse with the tracklist.
But it'll always be Rock Band that nails it. As long as the guitars get rid of the god awful sponge strum-bar and non-existent upstroke.
