What do you think of Rodney McKay as a character? If you've seen Stargate Atlantis, you know who Rodney McKay is. If you haven't, watch some videos on Youtube or something. Personally, I think he's one of the funniest and best characters in television. Mal and Jayne being the best. It's a tie between the two. Wash comes in at third.

they had said he was only supposed to be a one shot character on sg-1 and that was it but everyone liked him so much they brought him back for atlantis

Well...I don't think anyone is -supposed- to like him when he's being a self important dick, however, he has his moments, and Atlantis really opens his character up.

Not as an in-world character, but I love the concept and the fact that he was fleshed out and given depth. He is not just a 2D reclusive genius, but has been shown to have strenghts and weaknesses as all of us do.

He might be a whiny b**ch, but he's a well thought out one and fits the series. So, yes.
