Poll: Saints Row 3 is going to be "Mindblowing" apparently.

The first two were time-consuming as they were pretty damn great!

The 3rd one? Going to be up there worthy of the title "Best. Game. Ever!"

Meh, Saints Row 1 had a good online, the single player was mediocre though. Saints Row 2 completely killed the online, and the single player was full of gimmicks that grew old by the time I completed it. Saints Row 3 will be no different I imagine, it'll be decent for a short while like Red Faction, Crackdown, Mercenaries or Just Cause 2, but when the gimmicks wear off it'll be back on the shelf collecting dust.

I can only play Saints Row 2 for 10 minutes before I get bored, and I don't like its style, it tries to be over the top, but it's too forced. I can just imagine the maker of it thinking "HAY LISTEN GUISE WE PUT QUAD BIKES ON FIRE AND THEY DRIVE THROUGH CHECKPOINTS THAT EXPLODE, AWESOME RITE". No, it's boring.

Nothing beats GTA.

If they just rerelease saints row 2, but with splitscreen coop, i would be happy.

And if they add red faction's destruction physics...

The Saints Row series is so-so with me. I find it fun but at the same time a bit boring as well. I must admit that I like GTA IV much more than Saints Row 2. In my opinion the story in GTA IV was much more intriguing and deep whereas the story on Saints Row II was more or less just one person wanting to take out all the other gangs in the city.

In my opinion I found GTA IV much better than Saints Row II.

On Topic: Hopefully, Saints Row III will feature more to the story than just taking out all the different gangs in the city. Hopefully, there is a deeper element to it.

Didn't they say a while back it was going to be something very different, since you're now in control of the city, you'd be doing more corporate type things instead of just blowing shit up?

I'm not sure, but if they say so, I'll believe them, and probably buy it, I finally have a little money to burn, and should have more by the time it's released.
The game won't take place in Stilwater. So yeah, don't know how much "I control the city" stuff will pop-up, but the game still sounds excellent.

I fucking loved Saints Row 2 until I beat it...
then I lost interest almost completely.

The story was a lot more interesting to me than people gave it credit for. The characters had personality and I was genuinely pissed off when they were for reasons I won't spoil.
I also liked my pseudo-Jason Statham/Yahtzee main character who even wore a Fedora. I hope he can return for the next sequel.

The only thing I hope the improve is the gunfighting... make it a little more visceral (touch it up like Mass Effect 2 did).

A message to Rockstar, if you're going to tease multiplayer, put it in the ACTUAL GAME.

OT: Saints Row 2 was a blast, and it's even more fun when you get to actually do something in-game with a friend.

I like to play a game where there is actual progression in the city itself.

I had both SR1 and 2 and to be honest they were okay but nothing spectacular, i might consider the 3rd one.

I'm still playing Saint's Row 2. I love the customisation. My character has been a picture perfect version of everyone. Joker, The Fonz, J.D. from Scrubs (Let's Pretend shop in the underground shopping centre at Nob Hill FTW)... It's brilliant.
I even became the Mad Hatter and had a themed green classic car that had kneecappers and everything. Good times.
Also, I've got a mission-related problem:
I've done every Ronin mission up to and including Good D, I've done every Brotherhood mission up to and including the one where you fight Maero with the minigun, and every Samedi mission up to and including Eternal Sunshine, and maybe even one after it.
But now, even though I've got like 14 respect bars, the missions aren't showing up. It's not even that I just can't do them due to a respect glitch, they're just not on the map. Is this normal?
You need to find the Ultor Missions. Then you can officially beat the game.

SR2 was an awesome game, it had one formula - be fun. And it achieved it with no bullshit attached.

The characters were interesting - particularly Johnny Gat. I can't wait until SR3, if they keep the Co-Op and stick with the formula I dare say it could be GOTY material.

Although I found it hilarious that the Times and a few other critics ripped into SR2 for being "immature" and "needing to grow up". It seems they missed the point completely.

EDIT: Also my guy looked like Vinnie Jones (specifically bullet tooth tony from Snatch)

I wanted badly to like SR2 but the PC conversion was just lousy. The driving especially was horribly choppy.
