Just like to get points and views on why there should/shouldent be a new Serenity movie, or a new Firefly seris personally i belive both should come back beacuse i thought they were amazing. The seris got canceled way too soon and the movie i personally think did a lot better than alot of people made it out to be.

I'm going to get shit for this, but no. I don't think that Firefly should be continued in any way except comic books. Part of the reason that Firefly was so good was that it ENDED before it was ready; which meant that there were no stale episodes, no badly-written dialogue, and the characters grew satisfactorily without being completely bogus.

As much as I would like to say "Both", I'm going to have to vote "None." The comics are great anyways, the only negative to them is that they don't have Jewel Staite's beautiful body.

as a fan i can only say id love to see it back if it was done right and stayed fresh
This. But whether or not they could do it right and keep it fresh is what I'd be worried about.

I have to agree with you on this one. If they bought the show back it is possible they would lose the near perfect status it has.

They can't bring it back. They killed half the characters.

That's usually sort of a series ender.
There's quite a large time period between the end of the series and the film where a new series could be set.

Actually, Joss Whedon has said that if he was given the chance to revive the series, he would make Serenity non-canonical.

I'm going to have to go neither myself. Canon-wise, I wouldn't want to see anything post Serenity, as half the characters I watched it for are kinda dead.

As for Firefly itself. as much as I would actually want to see more of it, I don't at the same time. As has been said, its such a great show because it never had a chance to hit the problems that come of shows that keep running.

Well naturally, that's really the only way I can see it being pulled off. The missing characters aren't exactly the sort you can just replace easily. Although losing all of the knowledge of the Reavers would be a little funky...I guess they would just change that.

I'd kill for Firefly to start back up again. Serenity, eh. It was a good movie, very true to the series, but I hold the infinite grudge against it for killing Booke and Wash. And the series could better be continued as it was- Serenity 2 would probably be made for the screens and as such lose a bit of the Firefly awesomeness, and I wouldn't want to risk that.

See, if that happened, Serenity being just a blip and we a got a series two, I'd love it, although if it ended after two series' I'd be happy. I'd hate for it to pull a Buffy or an Angel and get old, scraping the bottom of the barrel for stories. JUst a few more answers would make me happy.

I would like it, but since Serenity only turned a profit through DVD sales I don't think its likely.

With the deaths of key characters, there's no way that they can support another season of Firefly unless they un-canon-ize (or whatever) Serenity. I would support either option, but I would prefer a Serenity 2.

They sort of grew about 20 pages long and then they were cut off. There are a lot more stories to tell than just. HOKAY WE DECIDED THAT THE UNION IS EVIL. Like we didnt think they were evil at first... oh wait we did.

I say toss serenity away. Whatever the movie did to the story, throw it out of the window. It's a nice non canon little movie. The series should continue from where it left off.
Joss whedon planned 7 seasons. It got half. You can squeeze 6 seasons into 1 movie.

I'd like to see another 1 or 2 seasons or Firefly, more if they can make good episodes and not just random filler.

Which was actualy kind of my problem with the series, good as it was, you didn't really have an overal storyarc, it's like the first season of Stargate. Yeah sure the evil government sent a couple of smurfs to capture a psychic prodigal girl or whatever, but you could watch all the episodes in random order and it would not make a difference. Each episode is just another story about Reynolds and his gang doing stuff that doesn't matter.

I have seen the movie, but it was before a saw Firefly and I don't really remember whap happened it in. I guess the story was more developed in there than in the series but if they really killed of half the cast then fuck that movie, pretend it doesn't exist and make more episodes please ..

okay, well i hyperboled it a little . the fear i have is that they might feel "duty bound"(i.e be money grabbing douche bags.) and just remake the entire movie/seris, and re-made movie's or seris' most of the time they are just to okay to be much good. so it was a hyperbole but, i just think, with terrible odds like re-make's have, i'd rather just leave them be. i know they could be good, but it is so likly that they'd be to average to watch, or they may change something stupid, like make the main charecter's armored space marine's or some stupid shit. so to sum up what i said here, i'm extremly pessimistic about remakes.

No. Leave it where it is. They've got 14 or so episodes, all of which (apart from one) are excellent, and my favourite movie of all time. Joss is happy working on Dollhouse anyway, and I think it's better to look forward to his future projects rather than pining over his past ones.
