In some games like Final Fantasy they can be worth it

It really depends on the original game and what they've done in the remake. If it's just improved graphics then I'd say most of the time it's not really worth it. But if it has some extras, be it artwork, levels that were scrapped from the original, or even entirely new content, then I'd say that would be worth it.

Resident Evil badly needs some remakes considering how FUCKING FANTASTIC the REmake was. So yes, I believe in them.
