Does modern day include settings that were written when the past WAS the modern day? (I'm asking this more as a reader than a writer)

Yeah, but 'Modern day' isn't exactly a book written in 1455, if you catch my drift.

I like a little of everything, but my 3 favorite series happen to fall into the fantasy setting.

I love Sci-Fi but mostly Dystopic Future types of books. I also love alternate timelines. IN close third place is Modern Day.

Looking at the books I have read, 90% of them are Fantasy. I am not sure if I have even read a Sci-Fi book as odd as that may be...

I usually go for Fantasy settings. Modern is too boring to me. When I play video games, I want an escape from the normal world, not to play as another person in the normal world!
