I go with summoning since I can just summon a clone of me. Beside what can I shapeshift into that is the same body mass as a human or can I still shapeshift into a dragon but human size?

Can I bend the shapeshifting rules? Can I shapeshift into an Alex Mercer like entity, consume the biomass of others, thus increasing my own mass and therefore shapeshifting potential?
As for summoning, am I allowed to summon creatures of much less than my own mass? Can I divide the mass among many summoned beings?

Easy, shapeshifting.
Eat lots of food to gain fat, shapeshift fat into muscles and or bones to get a fit and nice body.
then use newfound mass to shapeshift into more awesome things. change appearances or turn into other things. I could become a master of disguise, a huge bird or a bloodthirsty animal, the possibilities are endless.

Gotta say those restrictions take the fun away from two very fun superpowers, summoning in particular. Pretty much all you can do with the summoning is call upon someone to do your chores and errands for you. Shapeshifting would be the better choice in this case. Though still ridiculously limited to lame extremes, it provides the best options for usage.

Well, if the limiting factor for shapeshifting is your own mass, shapeshifting into something with a biological system like a lizard's tail automatically severing itself could reduce your mass substantially and quickly. Or just shapeshift into a cyborg, pull out detachable bits and then shapeshift some more.
As far as going larger than your own mass, well, that either can involve lots of cake or shapeshifting into something that can quickly digest/incorporate some other matter into yourself.
So, yes. Shapeshifting. Even if easy mass manipulation methods don't work, it still beats the hell out of summoning a specific entity unless said entity also grants wishes or somesuch.

I'll summon something that allows me to summon whatever I want, and then summon something that allows me to shapeshift. Cheating the system like a boss.
Shapeshifting. Pretty much all of the fun stuff you could do with a random summoned beasty would be more fun to do yourself. Except that 'have sex with it' thing and, yeah, not going there. And I can shapeshift into a winged beasty that's slightly smaller than me to take care of the weight difference.

I'd choose shape shifting and shape shift into a skinny lady, putting all the excess weight into boobs and butt and have fantasies about myself...
And besides, I can still get away with crimes by shape shifting myself a different face or into a massive squirrel... Or even making myself skinnier and putting the extra weight I have to use into a giant ass blade on my arm Alex Mercer style...

Nice loop-hole, I like this. I was going to pick shapeshifting anyways, I'm small enough to shift into some pretty useful animals; a big dog, a condor or a really big eagle, a cheetah...Dags90 said:

Shapeshifting even under the original conditions is extremely versatile. Flight should be possible as well as effective concealment by spreading your mass over many bodies (though control might be an issue... but an insect like hive-mind perhaps?)
Even if that wouldn't work... travel forms should be easy enough, body doubling, maybe partial shapeshifting to boost specific physical attributes...
