Also your poll options are ridiculous, what if I like using assault weapons for mid range instead of a shotgun does that make me a coward as your poll options suggests? No it doesn't, it just means my strategies are different than your own. Don't be pretentious about it like your poll suggests.

In L4D, I always use the auto-shotgun (but never the pump, it sucks), and In TF2 the scout is one of my MPCs and his main weapons is similer to a shotgun (it's stronger than a shotgun but less accurate, kinda like a extrem shotgun.)

I agree. I like using the shotgun from time to time. But not every game is a shotgun one. A lot of situations ask for different strategies.
Besides, if you can only use a single weapon and dismiss other people's choices and opinions in them to a point you have to voice it out loud, you are a true "noob". Not someone without skill, someone who is just simply annoying.
GIVE US A GOD DAMNED MIDDLE OPTION. why do all the polls have a set ya or nay, I use them maybe once every month unless the time calls.
I'm the one in the back with an m104 sniper rifle killing guys with headshots from across the map saving my teamates and such. I ususally set up in a spot where I can see the objective like a flag or area of defence, and just pick off all the HVT's (High Value Targets)
Yknow, When you take the Shotgun and you see someone off in the distance with a rifle, you're gonna think, "Darn, wish I had a weapon that can go past 20 feet and still cause damage!"

Because there is no middle option. You either have the guts to look your enemy in the eyes before taking his life (CQC) or you're too terrified to and you don't (LRC).

To terrified, um let me see, do you know all the people that are behind enemy lines right now with nothing but a guillie suit and a pistol for protection traveling in two man teams.
it's called real life combat
These are true snipers, true snipers are the one's on assasination missions with up to thousands of troops against them, they must stalk their pray for possibly weeks before taking the shot and finding a way to get out of it or die trying.
My father was one of these men and trust me, it is ten time harder to be a sniper then to be a shotguner, snipers must have a steady hand while someone with a shotgun might as well be a triggerhappy Nazi
And as a sniper you looking you enemy in the face a hell of a lot closer than a shotgun, you watch them scratch their head, in there own feeling of safty and serenity, time slows, then you pull the trigger and it's over.
So next time you say that someone with a shotgun has more guts than one with a sniper remeber that
Depends on the game. In CoD (What I never play) They are a joke and can't hit a target 5ft in front of them, but in Vegas then hell yea! Now thats a shotgun.
Well, I'm more of a sniper and assault rifle fan myself, but if I do get a hold of a shotgun, I'll almost always run straight up to the enemy firing madly.
It doesn't matter if I die, it's too much fun to not do it.
I hate to post on this and validate its existence, but i refuse to vote on the pole. there is no middle ground.
OT: I do use shotguns some times, and i use other weapons other times. The reason that there are multiple weapons in a game is so that smart people can adapt to the situation.
It's quite sad that so many in the Escapist community consider something to be "cheap" there are ways around every tactic, if you get killed then you shouldn't have been so damn close to them.
I use shotguns, although in some games more than others; TF2 you need them when an enemy is too close for your classes main weapon and GOW you will not survive a round if you can't use one.
