The game marked seems to have split in the last year, with the biggest market being games that are 3D and grow increasingly complex, while a market that fancys simplicity have appeared, often making 2D games in a retro fashion. Many 3D games now grants you the ability to customize and create character, so you can make your character look cool and/or look like yourself.

However, I haven't seen any 2D games have this feature. Personally, i think it would be really cool to use your mii in a 2D platformer or something like that. What do you think?

2d character creation always annoys me because there are never enough options, and always looks shit.

I'm playing a 2d game for the gameplay, I couldn't care less about what the character looks like, and being made to create a character kind of reminds me how crap it looks and I can't stop watching my characters awful animation.

I'd prefer it if it didn't and I enjoyed the game, instead of being distracted by how my character doesn't look like what I wanted it to.

i like the idea of character creation in most games. sure there are examples where it would not work but it would in the majority of games.

vote yes!

I suppose it couldn't hurt. I've seen it done in a few flash games like the Madness interactive game. Not so much CC rather than clothing options but still...

IMO CC only works for RPGs and fighting games. I suppose it could work for side scrollers or even 3rd person shooters.

Then you haven't played Soldat. Baggy pants and blue dreads FTW. But I agree, more 2D games should have character customisation.
