Too many people focus on the bad side of 4chan its not inherently good or bad it's Random, it's Chaotic Neutral. Its the sum of it parts, some users are dicks, some are genuinely nice people.

For ever Incident like Minecraft being hacked there is something done to balance it out.

I've seen a very, very small portion of the website, and I have no interest in seeing any more. I've heard a lot of negative stuff, but I know that's only one side of the coin. I do know that anonymous would be difficult to 'hunt down' and even if 4chan was abolished, another website would take its place.

So, no, I don't think 'it' should be 'hunted down', because I do not think it's either possible or necessary.

Law is not moral. (we can all agree on)
- I have right to freedom of speech and expression.
-- But if I insult someone in public I can be fined or dragged in to court.

With both things giving out the same meaning but only one of them can be seen as having "sense" in them.

So what is freedom of speech?
"you must take what you give to others"
You really want to go in to that extreme low?

There is no "low" to which I wouldn't sink in the defence of freedom.

4chan are a huge collective of millions of people. It is impossible to judge all of them based on what a group of them decide to do. Just as there's been several bad things they've done such as this DDoS attack, they've also done good-hearted things like the prevention of the Pflugerville pipe-bomb explosion, the arrest of the Canadian paedophile Chris Forcand, the arrest of several animal abusers, and the mixed but well-intentioned Scientology protests.

But they are neither good or bad. They just are. And you cannot judge all of them for one thing they do.

Communication in form of speaking is way of getting a simple and primitive message trough with different sounds, (Different languages got different sounds and different construction of sounds for specific "word")
So when I say your are "you are a fucking dumpfuck asshole retartd" All I try to say you are "you are stupid". Same message can be given out in simple words of saying "You are stupid".

But be realistic, would you honestly be ready to let me criticise all of your believes, values, morals, comment on your, personal appearance, family, friends, hobbies job. And you are not allowed to anything to me because it is my right to say them in name of freedom of speech? You honestly think this can drive humanity forward? [u/]

I don't regular 4chan, I've been there once or twice, but I don't have a problem with the site or most of it's users.
The point I think the guy is trying to make is: "Should the users on 4chan who maliciously attack people be hunted down."
The answer is yes, unfortunately, the people who'd do the "Hunting" would probably be other users of 4chan...
And with that we have just entered the infinite loop of death,

BTW: If someone makes that bolded bit into some kind of GIF, I would totally use that as my avatar... I don't know how to do it though :/

Mate, while the US government can be one of the most inefficient things on the planet, second only to Jack Thompson at times, when we get serious, we are single minded. If Obama thought that takin' down 4chan would help his polls, I don't think there's a force on earth that would stop the sheer weight of the FBI, CIA, and whatever combination of letters the government cares to put together would bring down on 4chan.

Yes. I really will respect your freedom of speech. Even if you say incredibly stupid and offensive things. I'm doing that right now. The notion that you should be hunted down just for saying things that make me think you are almost subhuman is absolutely detestable.
