Yes and No, The vocalist does get most of the attention, although if the guitar player is gifted it will be recognised.

You dont become a drummer if you want to be in the limelight.

Well, I'd be fairly similar. If I can't stand the vocalist, I won't enjoy their music. But I do appreciate musical ability from the rest of the band.

if that is all you have to be ashamed of, you need to get out more.. there are millions of other things to be far more ashamed of. I have a list and I am steadily ticking them off.''And a

quality drummers rocks! they set the temp and soul of a band. Lead vocalists spend too much money on hair stylists.

No man... I am similar...
I used to think that a band was crap unless it had about 6 unbelievable guitar solos in them... But I've begun to like and even love songs for the vocals and Ryhtym...

Some bands however, like Stone Temple Pilots, are all about the vocals (IMO). Often, The other members are good but the lead singers attitude and actions basically define the band as who they are...

Although maybe you should know the names of the members of your favourite bands... But who am I to tell you what to do... I can't name all the members of Guns n'Roses?!

The juxtaposition of this thread title on top of the "The Internet is for Porn" gave me a wee chuckle.

OT: No, of course not.

The most important part of an band to me is...the vocalist. I don't give a shit how good the drummer/guitarist/bassist/saxophonist/trumpeter/etc. is. I only like most bands that I like (Pearl Jam/Stone Temple Pilots/Soundgarden/Nirvana/Rush/Many Others) because of the vocalist. Hell, I don't even know some of the musicians who aren't the vocalist for my favorite bands. Seriously...should I be ashamed?
No way man. I'm pretty much the same way, hell I'm listening to Plush right so I actually love you a little.

No, It's okay. I like some bands just for their vocalist.
Also you should check out Them Crooked Vultures
John Paul Jones, David Grohl, and the vocalist Josh Homme.

I hope Neil Peart punches you in the face for that comment. But either way, I can see what you're saying. However I value every aspect. Bass, singer, and even the lyrics to me make a diffrence. I tend not to like songs that repeat themselves too much and dig songs that use a good bass.

Just to add, I love Led Zeppelin, Rush, Boston, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Deep Purple and many more. Big classic rock fan right here.
lovin the bands, especialy CCR, they rock

Those bands are full of WIN :) plus I like some kinds of metal. Metallica being one of them.
