The 3DS is about to reach the harvest season of good games and not crappy launch titles. I want it mainly because of LoZ:Ocarina of Time(I hope they do Majora's Mask next) and hopefully get better from then on out, I see LoZ:OoT and it's highly positive reviews as the first blooming rose of spring or harvest in the 3DS's case. My main issue is that I know Nintendo will release a better 3DS practically a week after I get the first one and than I'll need to waste more of money on it, but waiting is hard, so I've decided to sum this all up in an easy poll. Help me 'scapists, your my only hope...of reaching a decision.

I did the trade in deal with walmart and I don't regret my decision.

Zelda will keep you busy for a while anyway, and I don't believe they will be releasing another model anytime soon.

What, Zelda or the 3DS?

The first is great and the latter is pretty good.

Probably worth your money, and don't be afaid to trade in your old DS's for extra cash flow.

Rrrrright...thing is the current DS I'm using is my brother's, he's in college so he really doesn't care but I think he's near the point of punching me in the face for it. I got like 10k in savings, wont's hurt to use it, 3DS costs like $350 right?

$250 here in the states, but I can't attest to the price in other countries.

If it does cost more in the PAL regions, then I guess they can consider that the "we got the best cover art for ocarina of time 3DS" Tax.

I wouldnt, but I havent seen alot of reason to. I rpobably will eventually, once games I like stop coming out in regular 2D, but i'm hoping this is a fad rather then a step into the future.

I couldn't see any 3D at all, no matter what I did with the 3D slider.
Other people in the game store complained of headaches after 2 minutes...

DON'T get it would be my recommendation.

Personally I'd wait for a few more "Must Have" games, but I've got one and I rather like it.

I've been playing Zelda like mad the past few days, I'm really digging it and the 3d. It actually got to the point where I didn't even notice how good the 3d was. My friend turned off the 3d when she was playing it, then when I got it back I was like "Huh, why does the game look so weird?" Then I noticed the 3d was off :p I've actually had some issues getting used to 2d games again on my PC, this has me started seriously thinking about getting into PC 3d gaming as well.

DS overclocked and Star Fox are due in August, Luigi's Mansion and Mario Kart are due Christmas time. Ideally I'd say wait until then when you can get it on sale, but I'm enjoying mine quite a bit right now.

I'd wait until the library fills out and the better model comes out. It can save you money and give you a better selection of games.

I see no justification for buying it, OoT and Majoras mask ARE already out on several consoles, there's no need to spend several hundred Pounds/Dollars/Wonka-Chips/pieces of dust on a DS which let's you see games in layers if you hold your head at exactly a 45 degree angle from your shoulder although the line up of up and coming games may tempt me...wait no it's ridiculous....

wait for it to be cheaper/good games out

actually wait for the model with longer battery life to come out... and get cheaper...

what? it's a recession.

Nintendo handhelds are essentially Pokemon consoles to me. Until there's a new game in that series for 3DS, there's no reason to buy one in my opinion.

It's your choice, so you make the decision.
But if you want to know what I'd do in your position (and you did ask)
Now interested in the least bit.
I have a DS, and it's been collecting dust for a long time now.
So I would not buy a DS with 3D.

My plan with the 3DS is to just buy a game that may become hard to find later (like Devil Survivor: Overclocked) but I'm waiting for the better model of it to come out.

Games like Ocarina of Time will still be around a few years from now, it's not gonna be hard to find.

Definitely buy a 3DS. With awesome games like Ocarina of Time 3D (vastly superior to original) out and Kid Icarus Uprising, Mario Kart 3DS, Luigi's Mansion 2, coming...

Well, I'd probably wait until there's a model that has better battery life. Because from what I heard, the current model doesn't have good battery life. Or at least wait until a price drop.

I will say though, by the looks of OOT 3D, it looks absolutely magnificent.

I'm not usually one to judge a game based on looks, but everything looks absolutely gorgeous. I love the new character designs and the re-polished environments. It makes everything that was old look new again. It makes me glad that somewhere out there, a young kid will experience this timeless game and hopefully enjoy it.

It almost makes me want to get a 3DS just for this game. Alas though, I took the cheapskate route and bought the original for $10 on the Wii.
