Yes, it's a huge amount of fun, great for co-op, though you're probably best off renting it, and getting some people to give you custom guns when you hit LV 50

The graphics look great and I can play 4 player co-op with my friends, and is an rpg (which I love), but is it all hype? Should I buy it or not?
IDK..

It's a matter of preference, and I would return my copy if it wasn't for the PC....=/

If you were to buy it and play it you might not feel the same.

I love this game really.

I didn't expect much from it but it is really fun just gather loads of equipment and the gun combat is pretty entertaining.

DO BUY.

I dunno.. I bought it, and it was a lotta fun at first, but it gets kinda boring. It's a great idea, basically Diablo-meets-FPS, but man is it repetitive. The "87 bazillion guns" thing is kinda misleading, as there'll be a few awesome ones and a million junky clones of other guns, only with a percentage point or two redistributed here and there. There are unskippable cutscenes, which is a drag, but they're not terribly long so I guess it's not a big deal. Overall, I kinda like it, but not as much as I thought I would. You should rent it first.

EDIT: er, nevermind, you already bought it. Have fun!

There was hype for it?
I thought everyone is calling it a suprise hit because it had, like, no hype.

Get it nonetheless, one of the best games this year.

Yes it's good for the first week and a half, gets really tedious after that. Even playthough 2 is rather dull, the AI is so retarded. The bosses are pretty much the same, at least in WoW you had different tactics for each boss.

I can assure you it isn't all hype. The best way I can describe it is to call it an FPS Diablo. The loot system is great, it has good shooter controls, and the classes feel different enough to warrant multiple playthroughs. The only downsides are the lack of story and lack of any "real" character customization. You can't customize the way your character looks beyond coloring your clothes.

You will rent it first like I have. It's good for all of 5 seconds and then it gets too stupid and incredibly easy.

If you think the game is easy, you clearly haven't gotten to playthrough 2. I consider myself a pretty damn good FPS player, and this has tested my skill to the fullest.
The amounts of health superbads have is painful. A regular enemy in playthrough 2 can kill a boss (It is possible to lure a Dahl headlands superbad brute to fight skagzilla and it will win. Big time).

I'm seriously looking at buying it myself but am torn between it, Batman and Brutal Legend (i love the metalz) i've also had a casual gaze at getting Tomb Raider Underworld and Prince of Persia for the same money.

Dammit where will my £20 go! The only thing slightly edging me off Borderlands atm is that it is an FPS. I already have 3 FPS games and want something a little different.

YES YES YES.
Do I have to repeat that?
It's my new favourite game. Since its release I have spent over 300 hours shooting skags and bandits. I love the gunplay. I love the guns. I love the setting. I love the artistic style. Did I mention it's my favourite game?

from the reviews and everything i've been hearing you should. Thats is as long as you have four friends to play with and that all stay at roughly the same level. I hears there is no matchmaking? or that it's just terrible though so you need four friends to play it properly.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
depends if you get it on pc or not, fps games are better on pc but borderlands is a lazy port and the multiplayer is hard to get working on pc so far, Im hoping they patch it

But after playthrough 2, you don't want to play it again. Me and my friends did it and now when we LAN we don't even consider it an option for what we want to play. I also thought that the end was underwhelming and it was odd that there are women in the vault.

Get it, but don't pay a lot for it. Probably better off renting for a week or 2.
I agree now that I got my fill of the game. It was absolutely an obsession of mine for 2 or 3 weeks, but once the better games of the holiday came out it immediately got shelved. It's one of those games that really, really gets repetitive after a few playthroughs. The classes aren't really different enough to keep me interested the way most RPG classes are.
