Right, that's me convinced. I'll go out sometime soon and buy it.
Wait a couple months for the GOTY edition. It'll be packaged with the DLC.
At this point, that would be the way to go... I've had the game for a few months now and XFire says I've played it 114 hours... 3rd most played game for me, and it is only single player...

Because it's the perfect first person rpg, it's set in an anarchistic land, where people are trying to get by with whatever they can scavenge in the rubble. No real sources of communication except two news casting radio stations.

And another thing, and this is what will amaze you. The voice acting doesn't make you flinch a disgusted grimace every 15 seconds! All in all a very immersing game, but I'd advice you to try and get on people's good side and karma. It's too easy if you run around and steal things from people; you quickly get rich and that sort of ruins the challenge.

Have fun though Children!

Of course, one of the best games ever made, get it on pc or xbox so you can have all the dlc
I'll get it on PC, then. Is the DLC free?
for the pc yes. Also you should download the GECK, its like a modding tool. Fallout 3 has some amazing mods

PC Version is not free, you need 800 points to buy 1 DLC, which is $10, but unfortunatly you can only buy 1000 points, which is $12.50, you are in USA, that is.

Are you seriously making a thread asking complete strangers to tell you if you're going to enjoy a game? Something that is completely based on personal preferences and based on things about you we know nothing about?

Because that would be stupid.

Seriously, if you want information, Google it. This is in the gaming 'discussion' board, which is strangely enough, devoid of DISCUSSION.

This topic is pointless. 0/5.

If you do buy it, get Broken Steel immediately. Raises the level cap and lets you keep playing after the end. The other DLCs you can get in whatever order you want.

But I recommend it. Great atmosphere, each place has a little story to tell, whether it's explicitly (sp?) written down somewhere or just in the placements of props, you can tell what's going on there. Quests are good, animation's alright, a bit depressing but fun VATS combat. Real time combat is kinda clunky and wierd. Keep that in mind.

Considering that a third of the gaming discussion section is devoted to the game I would assume that the Escapist likes it.

I'm asking people's opinion on a game. How is that pointless?

The game itself out of the box will give you a lot of playing time as long as you go out and not just focus on the main story line. The additional DLC just keeps adding to it and make the game even better, which I suggest you download and install (and patch) when you start playing.

Your title is "Should I buy XXX" and you asked people for information that can be found with minimal effort on your part, provided you know how to fucking read.

>.<

Okay, I am unsure how to make this any clearer to you. You are asking people to pitch you reasons whether or not you should buy Fallout 3.

You are asking people to take time to tell you information that you could find out with a quick google.

Why?

Because I trust that a poll would show me a bigger picture than a few reviews. Since something like 95% of people say I should buy Fallout 3, I can trust that it's a good game. I don't think people mind voting in these threads.

No, but I never said reviews. You asked for reasons why you should buy something, and your going to trust that because 70 people liked something, so will you?

Why you can't google info about the game and see if it fits your taste puzzles me.
