Poll: Should i get Demon's Souls or Dark Souls

In my opinion, Demon's Souls is much better than Dark Souls. It provides much more clear cut direction than Dark Souls and each section of the game seems to have much more character than the areas in Dark Souls.
And if for no other reason, Demon's Souls will cost less, have more direction and by the time you finish with it Dark Souls should have a price drop. Its just makes more sense fiscally.

If you do buy Demon's Souls, consider buying the EU version, from what I've heard the EU servers are more populated than the US ones, but in the end it shouldn't make much of a difference.

Overall? Well if you're interested in multiplayer, then Dark Souls is gonna last you a lot longer.

Get both. They're easily two of the best games I've played this generation. However, Demon's souls is cheaper and the online is about to be cut off so that might be the better choice. You'll get more content and playtime with dark souls however.

Just...get both.

Personally, I think Dark Souls is a much funner game than Demon's Souls.

It just feels more polished and combat feels far more satisfying.

Demon's Souls is good to start with, a very tough cookie though.
Dark souls is.. more of the same, but I can't escape the feeling it's not -as- hard but still offers a decent challenge.

While Dark Souls might be a better game as a whole, I suggest you buy (new) Demon's Souls first and play that through. I've heard Dark Souls is more difficult yet (Still playing Demons here, beating that before I crack open Dark), and it's an inexpensive way to get into the Souls series and see if it's really for you. The Souls games aren't for everyone, so hypothetically if you don't like it, you'll be burned less on Demon's Souls than if you started with Dark.

You can get Demons Souls rather cheap now I imagine, I'd get that to see if you like the gameplay/difficulty, treat it as a trial run, if you like the game then you can get Dark Souls.

Or if you just feel like diving in balls deep get Dark Souls first, from what I hear it's the bigger/better game overall and that's saying a lot (Demons Souls currently stands as my favourite PS3 game)

Yea, I'd say Dark Souls. It isn't actually a sequel to Demon's, and seeing as how the online is rather important, I'd try to play it as the online is still popular as hell, and that really does complete the experience.

EDIT- Oh, and when I say it's not an actual sequel, I mean there's no story elements that you'll miss out on.

If you try to go to certain areas early then yes. Although it's really your own fault if you take a Lvl 10 Knight against a giant 5 headed dragon you ave never seen before. That's Dark Souls, not sure about Demons.

The difference between Dark Souls and Demon's Souls is pretty small.The gameplay is the same and Dark Souls is supposedly harder than the first one and more open world(i.e: it has no hub base to go to after each level).

I would suggest get Demon's Souls first to get into the controls of the game throughout and then buy Dark Souls if you can.If not or you don't own a PS3,then get Dark Souls.

May as well get Dark souls if your only getting one of them, Demon souls online capability is going to be shut down soon enough if it hasn't been killed already. Playing demon souls to learn how to play dark souls is ridiculous reasoning in my veiw since its just moving a problem from one game to another - and Dark souls is probably the better game execpt for the compliants about some online features (but again DS servers are probably shut down by now)

Both. Different classes add replay value or you could just play New Game+ after you beat it. Enemies (including bosses) get 250% health and attack boosts. That continues for seven New Game +s.

They both have that New Game+ feature. Dark Souls is the superior game, in my opinion. But Demon's Souls is still great. Man, I'm not a lot of help.
