Poll: Should I wait?

I'm looking to get a new laptop for college, as my current one is undoubtedly showing its age, and I'm currently leaning towards a Macbook Air. the only question I have is whether or not I should wait until an updated version is announced. the only problem is that in past years keynote events on macbooks have been held in the fall, and I'd like to have my laptop by the time college begins.

Note: The primary feature I'm looking for in an update is the inclusion of the Sandy Bridge processor

Well, I was more or less stuck between a Macbook Air or a Macbook Pro, as I'm intent on getting a mac so that I can keep using the apps I have on my current MBP, and I'm currently leaning towards the air because it seems to fill the niche I need, being ultraportable yet moderately powerful.

If your current one is still functional enough to do your work, WAIT! The Sandy Bridge is going to be worth the wait. Even if it does irritating things, if it basically works, then wait.

Not that i want to start a mac bashing derailment, but why on earth would you ever want a macbook air?

Those things are ludicrously over-priced and virtually non-functional.

got to agree with this. That and i think a PC would be more convenient for a college user because of not only the programs and operating systems but other abilities as well.
I'm starting college in the fall and im useing my gateway NV53 for it. tons of memory and customizable to the users needs.

Pretty much this. Macbook Air is ludicrous.

If you're looking for a Mac and are willing to pay the money for a Macbook Air, just get a Pro instead.
