I like this guy, he's funny and he has done his homework.

As for this other guy, I'm five seconds into one of his videos and already I want to watch more, and see his style and how it works. Get rid of Jim, put this guy in his place.

Not only that, but he also needs to find a different form of review, other than that of the guy who he dislikes... He makes some good points, I admit, exept that main one about kids not being retards who know nothing of the world, but do we honestly need people who don't have an original concept, or idea, and just rip-off others?

Gotta say, Mr Blyth is pretty funny. Like the humour and style of presentation, and how it's really less about games and more about social phenomena behind them. I'd most certainly watch this show if it were to turn up around here.

Agreed. Even if it's just a persona, Jim is an arrogant fuck and I don't like that - I thought the whole point of pretending to be something your not was to make yourself look better...

Um, have you ever heard of British humour? Yes, it is different to American humour. I find the Jimquisition good because he pushes the whole aspect of personal exaggeration to a ridiculous
level, using the holier-than-god act to put things into perspective of either God or an idiot.

I find this hilarious because you assume I am American and therefore don't understand... wrong - I'm British, and I understand what he is doing - but I still can't stand it.

Being British does not mean that I have to enjoy Jim as an entertainer just because he uses British Humor...

For me, The Escapist is nerdy animation, animated reviews, & joint project live action stuff that has at least 3 people in it.

I have to presume you are American because there are by far more Americans on these forums than any other nationality.

Just because there are more Americans doesn't mean that I have to be one... check my profile and you will see that I am from the UK.

Also, if you look closely at my original post you will see that I said I was aware it was his PERSONA - and that my issue with Jim was that he made the choice to adopt such an annoyingly smug and arrogant persona, which is why I don't like him.

Even if it's not really what you're really like - acting like a douchebag is inevitably going to drive some people away.

I don't know, while he does have something to say, he sort of rambles around and often strays from the main point. I found it almost hard to watch, as it was just uninteresting.
I know Jim Sterling gets a lot of hate here, but I would rather watch him than this guy.

How is The Escapist any better than IGN? Paid reviews [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/8701-Dragon-Age-II-Review], shitty reviews [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/7423-Review-Metro-2033], you name it, The Escapist has it. Seriously, The Escapist is just as "bad" of a site as Gametrailers, IGN or Gamespot. If anything it's worse than the others since they can't get good interviews or get any reveals of new games or such if their lives depended on it. Even xbox360achievements.org is better at getting interviews with interesting people from the business.

I'm not saying The Escapist is the worst site on the internet, just saying that people who believe it to be so much better than sites like IGN are living in denial.

I never said The Escapist was better. I was just making a joke about IGN being awful.

I just use The Escapist for a news site.
