A man has unfortunately died by plummeting to his death while attempting to aid the occupants of an overturned car who had suffered only minor injuries. To see the full story click on the link:

If it didn't needlessly threaten my own life, I would help after dialing 911.

Usually a reward comes after helping someone, like karma points or bottle caps.

I've noticed that we've really spiraled off topic. Anyway, if I could actually help someone and not make the situation worse, I would try to help that person.

The poll needs another option, since helping and dialling the emergency services aren't mutually exclusive.

The best and first thing you should do to help is to ensure that the experts are aware of the situation and are on their way.

Then you can try to intervene yourself, depending on the situation and what advice you have been given by the emergency services, as sometimes you could do more harm than good by trying to move an injured person, or if the emergency services have to rescue you first before they can get to the original people in danger.

I'd help so long as I wasn't putting myself in an unnecessary risk. You can't help people if you're dead, after all.

That sucks. Stepping over a concrete barrier only to start falling, and falling...

Sucks. He still should have helped though, he was only trying to be a good person. Normally I would call someone who does something like this stupid, but considering that he was rushing to help people in a car accident I can understand that he wouldn't look below him before stepping over a barrier. I'm sure he was watching the situation ahead.

A bit close to home, too.
