So yes, I sing while at work. I'm a cashier at a supermarket, so customers can hear me. I know at least 30 songs by heart (mostly Jonathan Coulton and The Arrogant Worms, but there's a wide mix of others too). People tend to comment how unusual this is, so I started wondering who else does it?

Edit: Hey, where'd my poll go?

I've always done it regardless of what job I was in. If i get doing something my mind wanders and my play-list kicks in :p

Hehe, good to hear. Seems the poll was lost in the posting though... so my topic is mostly useless in that regard...

My mind wanders into lyric and theme regardless of where I am. It's because I'm bored.

Do you actually belt out into song and/or dance a la "Dancer in the Dark", or is it more of a softer singing to yourself?

I personally tend to sing to myself throughout the day. Somewhat quietly though. At work we always sing to each other just to goof off though.

I haven't seen Dancer in the Dark, but I definitely don't break out in dance. And it's been rather progressive. I used to sing rather quietly, just to myself, but the more I've done it, the more confident I've become of myself and my voice (the compliments help) so I now tend to sing loudly enough for people to hear it pretty clearly, though I've still gotten requests to sing even louder. Not completely sure my voice could take it though. ^^; I've never been that musical.
