Definitely. I've been playing the demo to death, I love it. My only concern is that certain sections could be too hard to do without going on co-op, and I go through MGS games at snails pace, desperate to avoid getting caught. If it's single player, no problem, but I don't want to make the other guy annoyed by being too slow, or worst case scenario, finally pick my moment only for my partner to get spotted.

Multiplayer for sure, much more satisfying to defeat another person than some measly computer script.

m-m-m-multiplayer.
I love playing online with friends, it's a great way to stay in touch when you live half way across the city and work gets in the way of hanging out.

If a game doesn't have a decent single player campaign, I'm not likely to pick it up.

The only exception to this for me is L4D, because playing that shit with my friends gets ridiculous.

Single Player all the way! I love to have great single player exeriences, like Fallout 3, Mass Effect 2, exc. Co-Op is nice, but mainly I like Single Player.

I prefer playing alone. Means I don't have to listen to the profanity driven swabs online.

I like to mix it up.

But I will raise the point that allot of games seem to lack a split screen mode!

I prefer single player. It's not like I hate multiplayer but I hate that games that make the multiplayer the main thing about a game (I'm looking at you MW2). Multiplayer is fun but usually get annoying fast and I prefer to play alone a lot of the time for the peace and quiet.

Single player for me.

Honestly I have been kinda struggling with the whole multiplayer thing. It may just be bad luck, but I continually have problems with the people I end up playing with.

Example 1: I was playing Halo 3. On one of the maps I grabbed the rocket launcher, and fragged a couple of people and than moved on. At the end of the game, one of the players started to yell at me, claiming that I was cheating, and that using the rocket launcher was wrong. Now keep in mind there where never any discussions before the match, just a standard multiplayer deathmatch.

Example 2: I was playing MW2. After recently friending one of my teammates, he decided to test my skills in a one on one match. We played for a while, and there was no contest; he is much better than I am. Problem is every time I got a kill in, he began to yell at me, saying that I was camping, using noob weapons, etc.. and this was in a one on one match.

Example 2: I was playing the Reach: beta. Once a game was complete, I received a series of messages from one of the players. Apparently I kicked him, with out knowing it. This persons response was to swear, threaten, and ultimately . When trying to apologize for what I may have done, I only got the response that I was lying and some more expletives. It's a beta. Shit happens. I don't think that anyone can control who is kicked or not. The worst part is that any progress that you make in the beta won't transfer over to the actual game, so any stats you acquire don't even mater.

I know that I am playing popular games that bring a large crowd of people. I just seem to always end up playing with doushbags, or adolescents that are more interested in keeping their k/d ration up, than having fun. Co-op is usually fun, but the same issues of "I want to win, vs lets work as a team" always come up. The above examples are only a few in the many that have happened to me, but the final result is I look forward to, and spend more time in the single player aspect of any game.

Pretty much only singleplayer. If I play with friends I pass pads. I think it's more fun than faceless online play.

Single player, I hate multiplayer. Or rather I hate online muliplayer, multiplayer with people in the same room I have a more favourable relationship with.

If it has infrastructure I'll give it a go at some point, if it's ad-hoc only then I won't be able to as I know about one other person with a PSP and they don't like MGS.
And yeah, I saw that thing about Kojima being in the game, referred to at parts as God. I find it hilarious, it's the Axl Rose/Liam Gallagher kind of arrogance that I just can't help but love.

Both.

I love playing single player but I equally love multiplayer. They both make the games last longer and entertaining. I even love games that rely heavy on multiplayer. (well except MW2)

And as for all those Xbox Live jerks with a mic. I just go into a party even if I'm by myself, it nicely blocks all communications with strangers.

If the SP is shit then I won't buy it - mutliplayer keeps me interested, but it doesn't get me interested.

single player because half life 2, mass effect 2 and metro 2033 do without multiplayer just fine. mw2 can fuck off
