I actually like Slim Jims quite a bit. Yeah, they're kinda nasty if you really look at them (greasy and semi-"fake" jerky) but they're pretty good still. Obviously, I prefer actual beef jerky, but if you hand me a Slim Jim, I'll still eat it. xD

Slim Jims would be awesome if they actually snapped loudly like they do in the commercials. Sadly they do not, so I have no need to eat them.

The WWE commercial is still pretty terrible though.

Slim Jims are amazing, and if you think otherwise, well maybe you shouldn't be alive. Or you could give them a chance. You dont know what you're missing. Put me in a room with a Slim Jim and it will be passing through my digestive system within seconds. One of the best snack foods ever.

The few I've had , have always been mushy , greasy, and tasteless. I haven't had one in years, and wont waste the money on re-trying them to see if they've changed. I am 99.9% sure, they haven't.

Also, what if I spend the money to re-try one, and find out, they've somehow gotten worse?

I hate Slim Jims but I find the commercials are perhaps the perfect advertisement for the product. They represent an excellent metaphor for both the flavor and the health content!

They have the most low-tech advertisements... seriously, the "ninjas" scene causes great annoyance every time I see the photoshopping.

Don't like the taste of 'em at all. They're like jerky but with too much spice and a less satisfying texture.

What's a Slim Jim? Must be an American thing.

I may have had the British equivalent (if there is one) but I've never even heard of Slim Jims.

Slim Jims are artificial "beef jerky" sticks.

Beef jerky is dried, cured, meat. Once upon a time, Beef jerky was an excellent source of food for long journeys, such as spending months in the wilderness or months on a ship. This was primarily because it was a source of protein, and did not spoil quickly.

Modern use of beef jerky is still similar. The military includes beef jerky rations for troops, and it is also used on long recreational hiking trips. As such, it is also sold in many retail stores as a quick, tasty, snack.

As I said before, Slim Jims are artificial sticks of "beef jerky". Unlike real beef jerky, Slim Jim's are made of processed meat-like substance, usually contain some sort of artificial flavoring, and have a primary ingredient of grease.

In short, Slim Jim's are to beef jerky as Spam is to steak. Nasty.

Personally, I hate the Slim Jim commercials. Someone else stated that this is a gaming website, as such, one would expect the commercials to be relevant to gaming. I couldn't agree more.

What's next? An ad for tampons?

Slim Jims are among the many items marketed to 12 year olds, along with Corn Nuts and the weird squeeze-paste candy you find at lunch trucks.

I'm not a fan, but I don't think they taste bad. I just don't like the idea of eating a pencil-thin dried sausage while I drive, and that I only see them at gas stations now anyway, so I doubt I'll ever eat one again, no matter how hard they challenge my manhood in their commercials.

I used to like Slim Jims, but I haven't had any since those commercials. Every time I reach for one, I hear a squeaky, evil voice screech out "WWE CHAMPION!" and a part of me dies.

I'm in the same boat as you. Never again shall I support Slim Jim.
