Poll: Slipknot Vs Mushroomhead

That feud has been over for... like... forever.
About the mask thing, yes, Slipknot did rip Shroom off in that regard, but in the end it's just a gimmick. Also, later on Shroom in turn ripped off Slipknot with the whole jumpsuit uniform thing.
Still like Shroom's masks better, though - the whole X-Face theme is very appealing to me.

Slipknot actually has more songs I like listening to, because a lot of Shroom's stuff is, quite frankly, fucked up beyond words, but in a direct comparison Shroom definitely has the better hit songs, probably due to their sound being very distinguished as opposed to Slipknot's. Before I Die, Solitaire/Unraveling, These Filthy Hands, Becoming Cold, Simple Survival and Your Soul Is Mine are all better (imo) than anything Slipknot has ever made.

Never heard of Mushroomhead, so my vote goes to Slipknot

Mushroomhead not only cause i went to school with one of them, and partied with all of them back in the day. But they were making their own sound before there were many bands trying to cop it.

My buddy was a huge faith no more fan and mr bungle mushroomhead took that formula added some speed and threw it in a blender came something a little bit different for that particular time and place. After mh a ton of bands started coming our of the woodwork with a similar vibe to their music, 2 to 3 years after they were making demo drum loops and creating their sound.

I grant beforehand that I haven't heard the full catalogue of Slipknot stuff. What I have heard has been meh for me- listenable, but not that awesome as far as my opinion goes.

That being said, I prefer Mushroomhead by far. Going on what I've heard of Slipknot, I prefer Mushroomhead's often melodic undertones and overtones mixed with the "I am punching you in the face" aspect of many of their songs.

Of course, with that being said, I'm gonna go get some of my brother's Slipknot stuff and listen to that because I realize I am not as familiar with them as I should be for this argument.

Oh also, J Mann/Waylon scream better than everyone I've ever heard except Mikko Kotamaki (Swallow the Sun) and Daniel Droste (Ahab).

Never heard of Mushroomhead, but Slipknot's nu-metal bullshit is an insult to music.

Never heard of Mushroomhead, and I wouldn't mind Slipknot if my brother played their music to the point at which I began to dislike them, even though I am not a fan of nu-metal anyway.

You know, there's a reason why Mushroomhead were around for 10 years before Slipknot and never got discovered in that time and there's a reason why they're still relatively unknown now.
