I have smoked now 4 times in my life in the last four years, dont particularly enjoy it but they helped me calm down and get through a few deaths. Not something I intend to become addicted to or make regular.
Even if you don't intend to become addicted, just be careful.

I don't mind it. Nothing like a little nicotine buzz to go along with drinking. And it's not that bad for me price-wise. They seem to be way cheaper here then other places, especially when compared to the UK.

And the whole "It's poison!" thing has never really bothered me. It's always been a enjoyment to risk factor issue. Cancer doesn't run in my family and it's not something I do often, so I feel it's a low risk activity. I mean, I think I would be more likely to die in a car wreck. I certainly know a lot more people who have died because of crashes than smoking related reasons.

I smoke, I'm trying to quit though.

People that insist on annoy people that smoke, as if those people are somehow unaware of the fact that it's bad for them, annoy me greatly though. If someone is smoking near you and you find it unpleasent, it's fine to say something. However, some people seem to feel the need to go out of their way to harrass smokers for their habit.

I find overweight people somewhat repulsive, much as I imagine some people dislike smokers. However, I don't constantly pester them, informing them of bad habit, nor do I exhibit disgust when they go for their 6th pie of the day. People have vices, and it's their decision for good or ill.

I smoke, but not regularly.

I only smoke cigars, and I usually only smoke high-quality cigars if I can get them (I'm fine with a Black & Mild cigar from time to time, though. They smoke real smooth for being so cheap), and I usually only smoke when I'm around friends who smoke.

It's a social thing.

Okay, well, here's what it comes to for me, I grew up around smokers, I was born with HORRIBLE asthma and the moment I started, it pretty much got rid of it. It made me cough up the shit that clogged my airways. I smoked for 2 years and my girlfriend asked me to quit, I quit for 2 years and then started up again, only smoking natural tobacco which has no negative effects.(Yes, I did my research, only the refined shit is deadly)

I do see why others think it's disgusting, but is it really worse than some habits? Nose picking is far worse in my books.

I tend to go for the hand rolled ones, If I'm addicted, I must work towards it.

but I usually don't smoke, unless you're refering to the green happy stuff.

Rarely and not cigarettes. I smoke a little green every now and then. Mostly when the occasion calls.

Like tonight being 4:20 and all. ;)
