Have enever smoked, though I've probably inhaled enough 2nd-hand smoke from my family to have lost a few years. Because of them, I've grown to abhor smoke, and ask my smoker friends to not smoke around me, or at least, smnoke down-wind from me.

I do smoke and I prefer cigs.
I started smoking for a variety of reasons I can't quite explain but it's something I enjoy nowadays.
I smoke from 6-12 on average days and I chain smoke 1-2 boxes at parties.
I deffinately enjoy it!
I kinda regret starting because it's a huge moneysink and a habit that's hard to get out of.I'm deffinately addicted but it's other reasons that keep me from quitting because I can get over the addiction fairly easy.

I enjoy having a smoke occasionally. Mostly just when Im drinking.(once a week) so maybe 10 a week unless I go to a club then I can easily get through 20! Its not a great habit but so long as you dont force someone to inhail your smoke its fine!

Yes because it harms other people. I don't oppose banning alcohol (even though I don't drink) because you can drink alcohol without causing other people to suffer. However, you can't smoke without causing harm to other people.
You can smoke without harming others! Its illegal to smoke in public places now. Most places have designated smoking areas and as an occasional smoker I think that's totally justified. I would think that alcohol damages more peoples lives than smoking with all the alcohol related violence and accidents(Cars/roads)!

If they banned the sale of cigarettes I don't think It would bother me that much!

BUT obviously they wont because its big business! ££££££££££££££££££££

If you don't smoke, do you mind others smoking, or do you hate cigarette smoke?
I dislike the smell of it, and how it makes me feel.
What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose? It's their right, but keep that crap away from me!
What do you think of smokers?Nothing different than other people, except that their vice is silly.
Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?I'd be cool with it being banned.
Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting? No.
What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?Don't start.

Tried it when I was like 15-16 mostly when drinking but still I was meh. Today I only smoke pot from time to time at parties but I guess you're asking normal tobacco which I don't.

Also I don't have any problems with people smoking around me as long as I'm not eating.

Banning anything even tobacco would only make things worse since there would be no control in what they will put inside.

I smoke a pipe (Old Bruges tobacco). Started when i was around 18; about one per day (less during the year, more in the holidays); usually while taking a walk. The whole thing became a kind of ritual i enjoy immensely.
No regrets; i'm addicted in the sense that i would miss it if i couldn't do it anymore (e.g. medical reasons) but i don't think i'd have any difficulty stopping.
Never touched cigarettes though; those things are bad for you.

Me and my friends sit in the middle of a field with no one else around to smoke. That doesn't hurt anyone. On the other hand, alcohol causes more harm and risk to the non user than smoking, due to drinking-related violence etc. I understand completely what you're saying, but there's a lot of grey areas you seem to miss.
Actually, that would still harm other people, if not by passive smoking then by the bad substances that get released into the air. It's not good for the ecosystem, you know. Also, I've read that every time one smokes, cigarrette molecules (or something like that) will stay floating around the person and will remain in their clothes for a long time. These molecules are harmful and cause skin problems. It's also bad for others. So, if you go to the woods to smoke and then come back to where there are lots of people, the cigarrette molecules around you will harm others.

And yes, drinking will cause harm to others but it can also be consumed in a way that causes no harm to others. A few drinks or beers every now and then damages no one (but the drinker, of course) since you won't get yourself wasted.

Perhaps in your country it is. They are thankfully going stricter about smoking over here but you can still smoke in public places. You cannot smoke inside public buildings or inside bars and restaurants but you can still smoke on the street. In fact, it's only recommended to not smoke under roofed bus stops which is pretty irritating to be honest.

I don't smoke, but I'm not one of those people that despises smoking, either. People like that irritate me more than smokers. I have always had a personal problem with overeating, which in my opinion is as serious as being a regular smoker in terms of the impact on health.

Couldnt there of been a 'there is at least one of these threads a week and its mostly used for bashing' option?

That aside, yeah id do, mostly at parties, I consider sobranies and vogues dangerous cos they're so nice I could smoke them a lot more often, thankfully they're also very expensive.

I am far more angered by people who get superior at smokers than those who chain through a pack of 20 in one morning. You people ever had junk food twice in a row or a bit too much too drink? Ever crossed the street more than five times a day? Ever got in a car??? If you have then you are a hypocrite; you are far more likely to die from all these things than smoking.

That said, passive smoke (except pipe tobacco for some reason) is disgusting so I can appreciate people having problems on that level.

In reference to the person above me, it is perfectly possible to smoke without affecting other people, dont be ridiculous.

Advice for quitting? Never really had too cos I watch myself and make sure I go for at least two weeks without smoking if I feel a craving. But best advice is just dont buy them, spend the money on other things to ease the pain, and make sure your friends know your serious about quitting so they dont tempt you, even as joke.

I used to and I would smoke cloves and not tobacco, I can't stand the taste and I can tolerate the smell of it. The only reason I even smoked was because I tried one from a friend of mine and I loved it. Problem is I only smoked them occasionally and every time I bought a pack my friends would bum almost all of them off me, so I decided that it was getting ridiculous and I quit. So I smoked for about a year, not very long, so it wasn't that bad.

I don't regret it, I don't really have a good reason why I even started, but there are times where I thought what I was doing was a waste of my time. Was my school's education on smoking accurate about the real thing? Yeah it was, but since I didn't smoke for very long I can't really say too much about it.

I've grown up around smoking. It doesn't bother me, but at the same time, I would prefer it if people I care about would stop doing it, if only because it has serious long-term health repercussions. However, in the end, it is each person's personal decision. That's really how I feel about all drugs.

I've tried a cigarette once. Kind of a disappointment, really. It was pretty much just smoke. No sudden realization, "Ah, this is why they do it," or any dramatic retching and mass suicide of my taste buds, just... Meh. If I want to inhale smoke I'll stick my head over a campfire, at least that way I'll smell borderline good.

If you don't smoke, do you mind others smoking, or do you hate cigarette smoke? and What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?
But sure, anybody can do what they want with their lungs, I won't complain. If they're good company I may even tolerate the smell. Just don't do it in my house. The girlfriend smokes occasionally, but watches it when I'm around, and in return I try not to give her a hard time because of it. Once again, the smell is of the essence: as long as she usually doesn't smell like cigarrettes, I don't mind. Otherwise it would be just too big a turn-off for me, love her as I might.

What do you think of smokers?
Nothing special. Maybe I'll be more bound to see them as not respecting their life enough, being somewhat shallowly hedonistic and blah blah blah, but it's not an important part of what I think about someone. We all have our vices.

Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?
Well, people should be aware of the risks they're taking by smoking, and raised taxes on cigarrettes are a good idea, because they will be using healthcare more (this coming from Finland), but that I think is all already well in order.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?
Yep. Newport Shorts and Camel Crush cigarettes.

Why do you smoke/why did you start?
I guess I still smoke because it's relaxing. I started because I had a stressful evening and wanted a relief.

How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)
I smoke about four cigarettes a day on average.

Have you ever tried, or are you considering trying at some point?
Seeing as I smoke, yep, I tried. I even tried weed once, not my thing. I try a little of everything.

If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?
I love smoking cigarettes. It can provide a compliment to any moment. Even movies acknowledge that, hence why characters bust out cigarettes after a major event. Don't believe me? Remove the cigarettes from Shutter Island. It just feels like something is missing. As for weed, no, I did not enjoy it. I got high, yes, but I didn't like who I was.

Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?
Everyday.

Do you regret smoking?
Nope.

Do you think you are addicted to smoking?
I've been doing it for about nine months, so yes.

Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?
I don't believe my school ever talked about cigarettes. I mean, they did show us pictures of lung cancer for one class. But, nothing that ever stuck with me. You want kids to be scared of smoking? Show them a smoker's receipt.

If you don't smoke, do you mind others smoking, or do you hate cigarette smoke?
Obviously, I don't mind. I love when my friends who don't smoke don't mind me smoking near them. In fact, a good friend of mine loves the smell of cigarettes and reminds her of when she lived in Turkey.

What is your opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?
Of course. It's their right to choose where to do it too. Banning smoking sections and making people have to be a hundred feet from a state building is absolutely ridiculous.

What do you think of smokers?
They're like me? I guess? I just don't like weeders. Yep, I said weeders.

Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?
They've been banned from advertising and it's rightfully age restricted. They've been banned from buildings and restaurants. Let people have their nicotine.

Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting?
Tough. I tried it and the friend I was quitting with gave up so it made it impossible for me to quit.

What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?
You'll quit if you're strong enough. Don't go cold turkey or you'll feel some serious withdrawal.

I'll smoke weed every now and then (about once every 6 months), and a couple of cigars on special occasions. I don't smoke cigarettes, as I don't like the taste or the feeling they give me.

I just don't understand how anyone born post-1990 can pick up a cigarette after knowing all the harmful effects of smoking. They can go ahead I guess, I actually like the smell for whatever reason, but at least have the decency to not do it somewhere inappropriate.

Cigars on the other hand, aren't as harmful because you don't inhale. When I'm older I might have one every now and then to relax.

Nope. Don't think I would care to try either. I don't really care if people do it, just don't around me. Its a disgusting habit.

Cigarettes, not that nice.
Cigars infrequently.
The more... ahem, "herbal" variety every so often.

I have this feeling you're doing a research paper on this... :p

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?
- Yes, I prefer Menthol
Why do you smoke/why did you start?
- Smoked during a drinking session. I started during one of those drinking session.
How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)
- Can't really count it per day, but per drinking session, I can smoke a pack, king size.
If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?
- Well, somewhat. But I do it for the stimulating effects.
Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?
- Occasionally
Do you regret smoking?
- Not really, not a frequent smoker.
Do you think you are addicted to smoking?
- No, and I can control the urge to do so.
Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?
- I can't tell...

I can give advice to this question:
What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?
- Just don't let themselves be taken over by smoking. If already addicted, decrease the smoking frequency gradually, until you stop. :3

EDIT:

I was gonna try that, but I chose not to.

I don't smoke because I don't like the smell, it gives me a headache, and I have asthma so it is out of the question.

I don't really care if other people smoke as long as they aren't doing so right next to me. I would also perfer if they don't go to close to me either because the smell of the smoke on their clothes can give me headaches too.

I understand there are various health issues regarding smoking and while I have no right to use force in preventing others from smoking, I would highly suggest that they don't do so for the sake of their health and the health of those near them. It is their choice, but as long as their choice doesn't affect me, then I don't really care.

Do you smoke? What do you prefer to smoke?

I do smoke and I prefer smoking Marlboro Black Menthol or Marlboro Ice Blast

Why do you smoke/why did you start?

Hahahaha, I'm a cliche'd case of peer pressure from about 2 years ago. I would have been about 15 years old.

How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)

Well at the moment I'm testing to see how long I can NOT smoke. However on average less than 1 pack a day. howevevr it does vary.

Have you ever tried, or are you considering trying at some point?

Smoker.

If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?

Yes I enjoy it. I like the rush, I enjoy the pose and I guess I just enjoy it.

Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?

It tends to depend on my mood, location and who I am with. I guess I am a Smoker (with the capital S) however I want to keep it down.

Do you regret smoking?

To be honest...not at all. Well not yet anyway.

Do you think you are addicted to smoking?

Yes.

Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?

Hellz no. I didn't cough my first time, it doesn't make me feel drowsy and it hasn't made me forget about personal hygiene. Also by Terminale (last year of highschool) they stopped caring about our class and smoking.

What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?

Course its their right to choose. Just like drinking alcohol.

Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting?

Very difficult to the point of my not succeeding yet.

What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?

Put your mind to it. And get a "sponsor" who is a friend. And don't make my mistake of choosing a friend that smokes as your "sponsor"
