NX in that it might be something completely new. The Scropio has me interested in that I read it may have a 4K optical player.

This gen, I think the XB1 has won. Not in numbers. PS4 is doing that. I'm talking about my over-all satisfaction with the system.

Given that my rx 480 cost $240 by itself, the 4K upgrade to Scorpio for $400ish sounds reasonable.

I'll buy a Pro once my current PS4 kicks the bucket, OR sooner if they show off that it's actually a substantial upgrade, which doesn't seem all that likely.
From what I'm seeing, it'd be a good buy if your current PS4 died, but I wouldn't waste money otherwise unless you REALLY want something to do with your 4K television.
The thing is, I'm sure there'll be a noticeable improvement even on regular 1080p televisions. But unfortunately that's not coming across at all on youtube videos, so it's hard to shell out 400 bucks on an upgrade you're not sure of until it's in your living room.

I think the only one I'd consider is the NX, which is saying a lot if you know my rep of Nintendo "hate" (it's not hate, it's a disappointment but it get labelled as hate).

It's interesting, usually it's PS1, PSX. Ps2, PS2 slim. PS3, PS3 slim. PS4, PS4 slim, PS4 pro ... so it's the first time, there has been a .5 but I don't even see the difference in the 4 and 4.5. Fuck, I still struggle on SD to HD, fuck all chance on HD to 4K, might have a shot with SD to 4K though. I'm also a big supporter of graphics tech can fuck off, pour more time and cash into gameplay development and not what I read the other day about HDR, like do people really give a fuck about that? To me, that tech was done at resident evil 4 or 5, something about walking out of a building and you get blinded a little "while you're eyes adjust to the light".

You have all the graphical updates and what not but as long as the game looks good, I'm happy. I don't care about sky boxes and better lighting and particle effects and all this other shit 'cos after 20 minutes you get used to it and you're still stuck with the same gameplay you've had since the PS2 era.

So, unless the Pro starts putting it's extra horsepower into things like more shit on screen (such as playing dead rising with 3,000 zombies on screen with more persistent bodies) or more shit to do, I couldn't give a fuck.

PC will always be my platform of choice, but I always end up getting other systems once they're cheap enough and have enough exclusives.

Coincidentally, that means I'll be picking up a PS4 Pro at launch, since it already has a ton of very cheap games that I want to play.

//I know, impatience is getting the best of me, and I could probably find a good deal on the system if I waited 6 months to a year, but I really want to play Bloodborne.

I've got a videoport to HDMI cable running from my PC to my HDTV. I have no need to upgrade my console. I still play games on it - have Uncharted and Mirror's Edge Catalyst to beat plus I've started an alt on Destiny. But my TV is 1080p and 3D. Trine 2 looks awesome on it btw. So a console kinda sorta capable of 4k is unnecessary and my PC can push that resolution anyway even if it were.
