i haven't bought the game yet and wanted to hear from you, the public.
i don't care about multiplayer, i have a BT home hub meaning if i want to play online i have to spend a half hour fixing it so i only play single player.

how is it?

Basically, it's the best FPS campaign to come out in a while. [sub]Not that that's saying much...[/sub]

Finished it this morning

Top notch campaign, the handholding "Assuming direct control" ruins the first 4 or so missions but really picks up after that.
choreograph sandbox/action bubbles whatever they want to call it works, wether that appeals is personal taste but it certainly achieved the intention.

The campaign is really good, but its still just a supplementary campaign for a game built for multiplayer, just like all the rest.

In other words, its really not worth spending the money on a multiplayer game if your gonna just use the single player.

If you're going to buy it solely for singleplayer, get it used at a lower price. I greatly enjoy the single player, but it can only last for so long.

I am having fun with it. The single player is a lot of fun, and besides a few bugs the AI actually has some bit of self preservation, which does annoy me. Its a com! Why should you take cover when i'm shooting at you or actually come and find me when i'm trying to recharge energy! Stupid ai doesn't do that! Also, the multiplayer is alright. I know its a beefed up CoD, but i'm fine with that. Whats wrong with using a working formula for a springboard for something good? Overall, I found it a 4/5 because its a good game, but EA needs to fix their release problems. Its getting ridiculous with the mp problems on launch for this. (last one being with dead space 2 and people couldn't unlock the game for many hours)

Compared to Crysis 1, pretty shitty. The story became super linear, and the AI is flat out retarded.

The abilities work well, though the amount of energy your suit have doesn't appear to change at all on the various difficulties, which is too bad for when you just want to goof around. The combat itself is relatively boring, more so because there was so much hype around how they claimed it would be a new and unique experience. I've played games with much more unique and interesting combat than this game. The AI is at times amazingly thick, some stages of the game are a massive bore, the maps look pretty decent if you can run it on OK settings and overall the story is average.

All in all it's a game worth spending your time on, but nothing more. It's a decent way to burn a little time if you have nothing else to do. Personally it took me 4 separate sessions to get trough the campaign, as you will crave for a break after a while. It's simply not as engaging as I had expected.

Multi-player? Nothing we haven't seen before, and all the acclaimed "tactics" are extremely easily countered so that it becomes a very standard shooter anyway (HINT: just do a quick "on-off" with your nano-vision when you enter a room/area and you'll instantly know if someone is cloaked there or not... Do this frequently enough and you'll never be caught unaware. I know I haven't).

Score 6/10...

It's good, but I beat it in seven hours.

Also, AI = retarded, and it's insanely easy to just sneak through the entire game once you get a stealth upgrade/energy recharge upgrade.

But it was enjoyable, nonetheless.

I've always been interested in the Crysis franchise, I just didn't have the Uber Computer that you needed to run the damn thing. I look forward to renting it and giving it a shot this summer.

While I enjoyed the gameplay immensly the story was hit and miss a lot for me and having a silent protagonist compared to Nomad in the first one was a bad idea in my opinion.

I felt like a person, like I was alive in the first, in the second I felt like I was the suit, nothing more. Maybe that was the point? I dunno

The singleplayer is better than Killzone 3's singleplayer. Nothing spectacular, nothing revolutionary. It's a decent game, that's about it...

Rent the game, don't buy it.
