It seems most people having been gaming since they were young, anyway my question is:

Which generation and what game got you into gaming?

For me was always facinated with games, watching the older kids play the SNES, I didn't start playing myself untill we got an N64, inbetween I also playes stuff on the computer but I was never able to play that many games since they were expensive, so I playesd older stuff age of empires, theme hospital monkey island series,

I kind of skipped a generation (other than playing my freinds xbox, much to his disdain) untill I got a Wii for my birthday, that went ok for a while, but it wasn't untill I got my computer, a pretty standard laptop and decided to check out Assains creed, I thourght hey this is pretty cool, then I got Bioshock thinking "hmmm seems interesting..."

And HOLY CRAP it blew my mind, I realised games could have great atmosphere and storys and everything! and much much more depth than mario,

So yes I didn't start really gaming untill this generation, because before I just never had the rescources (money or decent computer) and I have to say It's great!

So yeah thats my life story how about you?

My oldest brother- now about twice my age- always had games around when I was little, always around. Me and my other siblings would play them for hours on end. Games are our deepest connection.

Gaming, really... it's all I remember. It's all I know. I could never be me without them.

My older brother was a gamer, so I've pretty much been into them my whole life. Grew up with the SNES and Genesis, and I've had access to most consoles since then.

The majority of humans, and gamers by extension were born around 1990. Those of us who have been gaming all their lives would start at least in the SNES era, and as such your first poll option is only valid for old people.

This.

I haven't played for all of my life, but since I was about 6. My first system was a Game Boy and a few months after that, I got an N64.

Good times, those were...

Watched and played my dads Amiga 500 when I was only about 3 (1990). Loved it so I never looked back. Got a Gameboy and a SNES and then most consoles since. I did take break from about 2004 -2007. Picked it back up when I got my PS3 and have been going hard ever since.

I have been playing games for most of my life (I'm now 17) but not like how I play now. I really started gaming most of the time when I got a 360.

My kindergarten teacher handed me a gameboy color and said have fun. Havent stopped since. My older cousin was also a big influence. I grew up watching him play games like kingdom hearts, Fire warrior, the sly cooper games, and other things. So ever since i was a young boy ive played the consoles

Pfft my brother is five years older than me, so as long as I could remember I've been playing video games. I started out with a neo geo, original gameboy (I kept upgrading until advanced), and a playstation, Nintendo 64, and a sega dreamcast...
then later I got a game cube, play station 2, xbox, then a 360..I stopped at a 360...

I started with the SNES. I mostly got into games because I was born really sick and was in the hospital a lot. I played video games to pass the time, and through most of my childhood, I was unable to play sports and such, so I played games instead.

literally since before i could fuckin read, i'd head over to my grandma's across the street and my uncle had a game gear and the nintendo sitting there so i would sit and watch absolutely fascinated by him and the games, suprisingly he showed me and trusted me enough to play, so i got VERY good at mario/duck hunt(did that shit off the mirrors perfectly) and punch out for that, then mortal kombat on that fucking gamegear, that was my first game that i truly raged on, fucking centaur looking thing, cheap fucking bastard, as a 4 year old i did NOT stand any chance with my reflexes to ever beat that thing. (granted my grandma didn't know what i was playing at the time..most of the time i'd just sit in my uncles room for hours then come out when it was time to leave after raging over that game. shit its probably video games that got me as smart as i was as a kid back in the day, to understand and play them i had to learn lots of vocabulary and how to do stuff by reading the gaming magazines.

For me, I started gaming during the PS1/N64 generation. When I was five, my parents bought me a PS1. Which introduced me to video games altogether. My first two games included Crash Bandicoot 2 and 2Extreme. Over the time I had it, I bought more games, and they were all fun. But, the one game that truly got me into gaming was Spyro the Dragon. This particular game I fell in love with. I could not stop playing it. Everything about it was fantastic to me, the protaganist, the enemies, the worlds, the dragons, EVERYTHING.

One day, I've finally made it to the end of this game. It was here I discovered it actually had credits like movies do. To me, seeing those credits filled me with a sense of accomplishment, and from then on, my path as a gamer truly began.
